Although I had no luck when asking about the image in this thread (regarding a piece from the Existencilism afterparty), it's worth trying again.
Does anybody know what (if anything) the symbol on the Deity spray can represents?

Banksy Puma collab, D'Face, Faile, Gee Vaucher, Nick Smith, by jeheh on Jul 7, 2018 12:48:03 GMT 1, Althoughย I had no luck when asking about the imageย in this thread (regarding a piece from the Existencilism afterparty), it's worth trying again. Does anybody know what (if anything) the symbol on the Deity spray can represents? The image above originates of the Maya god of Tulum decending down on earth. The Descending God was an important deity to the Ancient Mayans. This figure is all over the ruins of Tulum, the city which was an important trade hub for the Maya. The Descending (or Diving) God, as we can only call him, is the depiction of a man hanging downward, head-first to the ground, with his arms outstretched. His legs are above him, his feet tensed as if hanging just enough but refusing to fall. The added 3 dots represent a Maya numbering system of sorts. The first dot represents "one twenty" or "1ร20", which is added to three dots and two bars, or thirteen. Therefore, (1ร20) + 13 = 33. Upon reaching 202 or 400, another row is started (203 or 8000, then 204 or 160,000, and so on). The number 429 would be written as one dot above one dot above four dots and a bar, or (1ร202) + (1ร201) + 9 = 429.( Link ).ย Not sure what all of the above has anything to do with your question, but I think we all learned a thing or two today. And to add; A fascinating item nonetheless. Good luck with the sale...
Holy moly, I imagine that is how the bible got written. That deity symbol is from House of Deity, which is a clothing label owned by Rusty Blades in downtown Los Angeles. If I had to wager a guess, Rusty who also owns a silkscreen shop and is also an artist likely collaborated on the piece. Especially since this was very clearly done in the City of Angels...

Banksy Puma collab, D'Face, Faile, Gee Vaucher, Nick Smith, by leroy77 on Jun 4, 2021 14:27:33 GMT 1, Years later as I'm trying to track down a city of angels T-shirt -
I discovered this shot on House Of Deity, it shows the same logo tattoo on the guys hand - after following your info
I'd wager the art on the wall at this after show party in 'Deity Factory - Downtown LA' is likely Banksy's work?
Anybody have any more to add?

Banksy Puma collab, D'Face, Faile, Gee Vaucher, Nick Smith, by leroy77 on Jun 11, 2021 15:41:21 GMT 1, The Deity spray can logo is also on the sleeve of the 'City of Angels' T shirt that I've just picked up so I'm certain that House of Deity and Brian Blades (Rusty) silk screened the shirts.
Very little in the way of show imagery or video but thats not surprising for 2002, If anybody knows of any please drop me a line.
