These street pieces gets people talking, invigorates a sense of pride, and most importantly it makes people smile. I walk past the Martin Whatson NUART piece from last year, almost every day, and it is still fantastic. Utter fcuk1n joy, you might say. 
The NUART Aberdeen "murals" brings art into the lives of the "normal" people of the city, not to those looking to buy a print off the back of it. These street pieces gets people talking, invigorates a sense of pride, and most importantly it makes people smile. The festival has done nothing but good for the city and I've yet to talk to anyone who has anything negative to say about it or is upset because there are no prints to buy!
