Banksy Pulp Fiction Print, by senna on Apr 19, 2007 10:38:03 GMT 1, bit of a strange statement as NONE of the Pulps were printed by POW
what do you mean fake ??
dont think Laz would put a "fake" in his collection.

Banksy Pulp Fiction Print, by rob123rob on Jun 15, 2007 21:16:14 GMT 1, Anyone else surprised that a pulp fiction print which is creased in a couple of places (at least the seller was upfront about it), is currently at 720 pounds? Who is buying damaged prints? Im confused...no offense to those who buy them/it, but wouldn't you rather spend that kinda cash on something in better condition?
Item number 130122120520

Banksy Pulp Fiction Print, by snakes on Jun 15, 2007 21:31:27 GMT 1, Youd be suprised at how basic it is to restore such prints.
That's why art restorers live in big houses and the likes of me don't!

Banksy Pulp Fiction Print, by jam on Jun 15, 2007 21:32:16 GMT 1, People are getting nutty about that. There was a HAND a week or two ago that brought almost 1,000 and it had some deep creases on the corner after falling off a wall and having the frame and glass smash! There was also a HMV in similar condition that did something like 850... simply insane.
I was willing to buy both, but only because a very close friend of mine works as a conservator at the Museum of Modern Art in NY and he told me after seeing photos that he could probably straighten them out enough to where they would look OK in the frame. I was looking at paying half what the final bids were because then I would have to pay for the restoration and in the end... its still an imperfect print. I would have been cool with the idea because I just wanted to have the image, but not for anywhere near those prices! You are correct... why not spend the few extra hundred and have a perfect one!

Banksy Pulp Fiction Print, by craigf on Jun 16, 2007 10:42:28 GMT 1, Yes, I asked the seller and she said it wasn't paid for. She probably should have mentioned that in the listing. I like this print, currently at ยฃ720 as the high bidder has withdrawn their bid (brand new ebayer.....)

i find that most people want things perfect and I must admit that any framed prints I have kept for myself are perfect too. Nothing worse than natural sunlight highlighting a big crease on your friendly fire! But, unless the fibres in the paper are torn maybe the buyer is going to get it restored and flip it back on the bay as perfect condition, or maybe he/she will frame it and enjoy it. Def a good one to keep.

Banksy Pulp Fiction Print, by gordy on Jun 16, 2007 13:30:17 GMT 1, not so sure about buying creased prints either?
Does it cost alot to get them sorted etc..... could be a way of getting some of the older prints then getting them restored etc....
Is it a specialist process or is it possible to get the old morphy richards iron to them!!!! ;D
that could be fun

I've never actually had anything restored although I recently got a Micallef JD framed for myself and they ruined it! They creased it, float mounted it and thought I'd never notice. looks bad! They are currently getting it restored so I'll ask how much.

Banksy Pulp Fiction Print, by thetongue on Dec 5, 2006 12:49:54 GMT 1, I've seen there's a signed Pulp on eBay and my question is this; in the days before POW stamps how do you go about authenticating prints (especially signed) without a receipt or anything? I'm interested but don't want to get stung!! Also a lack of clear photos here so hard to see.
Any replies much appreciated! ;D

Banksy Pulp Fiction Print, by senna on Dec 7, 2006 13:09:57 GMT 1, either you have the name of the original purchaser or if it didnt come directly from POW, & it was sold from a ghetto or green leaf bookshop etc, POW have a record of which print numbers were allocated to where.
you could call & ask where number ** was originally sold from & if that corresponds with what the seller is saying.
not the best provenance in the world & i doubt a gallery or auction house would accept that but atleast it would make you feel a little more secure. other than putting the print in POW's face & saying "is this one of yours or not", i cant think of anything else.
hope this helps

Banksy Pulp Fiction Print, by thetongue on Dec 7, 2006 13:19:04 GMT 1, Cheers for that Senna!
Wasn't willing to part with that much as didn't have a receipt or anything. Said bought as a gift, but on description said never been out tube so couldn't be bothered with all that.
I would buy for the image and sig because I want it but you have to cover yourself in case need to sell in future.

Banksy Pulp Fiction Print, by ThursdayFeeling on Aug 21, 2007 19:50:12 GMT 1, I sent an email earlier to the seller on this asking about provenance, this is the reply back:
"I purchased this item from a women who worked on the set of Pulp Fiction - I was informed by the seller that 4 signed prints were given to Samuel , Uma , John & Quentin compliments of Banksy . 1 of these signed prints was sold on ebay during the week of 7/05/07 - 7/012/07 for over 10,000 lbs. / $20,000. I understand and respect why you are asking the question about the provenance. To my knowledge all signed one offs are not stamped by POW , LAZ Inc. or Santas Ghetto. I recently started a small organic clothing company and the sale of this item will help with the mounting start up costs. The piece is authentic and I put my 100% E-Bay rating on the line. Thank you and feel free to ask any further questions - thanks , Jon"
