But the recent print prices on the secondary market are a little bit overhyped in my opinion. heard about a print release in fall this year, at least there will be a slight chance to get one... |

I've seen a multi tasking sell for 1.25k USD.. not saying the above auction is real, just didn't seem impossible. I'd still love one, but I'm happy to own a carpe diem. Those haven't even been sold yet to set market, and I'm not selling mine. Nicer print imo, for many reasons. And far more limited Believe it not not, he's going to be very hard to get ahold of .. he has been since before the last show even opened. I've been trying for an og since about 2 months prior to that. Seemingly impossible. I'm currently in line with a few galleries, but who knows. And prices have gone up some I know that once we own someone's work we tend to defend and find explanations for higher prices, but I'll remain a skeptic of these eBay sales. Definitely understand the demand for the originals, as I've been in this mysterious line since October of last year and haven't seen to moved forward at all, but would never buy a print from an early career artist at that price no matter how hot his market may seem.

The interest is reminiscent of another artist. Between 2007-2010, Josh Keyes was as in demand and as hot as Oli is today.
Hundreds on waiting lists, predominantly from the US and UK for paintings, instant print sellouts. He had a hot market. Today, it is a much different story. While JK still sells, I've seen older paintings change hands for cost, or fail to attract buyers. A lot of financial duds.
Moral of the story is that trends change, so buy in for the right reasons. In ten years from now who knows what Oli will be doing or how his market will be performing.
