Oli Epp 🇬🇧 Post-Digital Pop • New Painting • Art For Sale, by Forbidden Love on Dec 14, 2019 11:37:35 GMT 1, While I agree somewhat, the main issue with this print is the poor image. I have to admit that I prefer the print over any OG from the show. The colors are nice and the image is fun. Guess everybody has a different taste luckily. In the end queuing up for the print is worth it if you like the image and want to buy the print without any extra fees. If you just want to flip it and it doesn't sale it probably was not worth the queuing. The only thing safe to say is that Carl Kostyal is a extremely unfriendly and unorganizeds**tshow.
I couldn’t believe the way he spoke to someone, especially if they queued all day outside his gallery. does he think he is someone? Not Oli’s fault but I will never be buying or setting foot into his gallery again. There must be some stories if I’m not the only one who experienced something.
On top of that it all felt a bit unorganised.

Oli Epp 🇬🇧 Post-Digital Pop • New Painting • Art For Sale, by Winter on Dec 14, 2019 12:11:41 GMT 1, You’re not allowed to like an artist unless their prints do well on eBay.
I think it’s great to like artists and talk about their work. This is more about the ticket tout types who are at every release buying to flip straight onto ebay. It’s possible in some cases this is their full time occupation along with trainers, tickets etc. If you queued to buy the print because you like it then great, if you queued all day to flip it then you probably got this one wrong.

Why is it even being discussed? People lined up all day to flip a print. Everyone here is guilty of disgusting things and yet the focus is on flippers?
It’s snobbery. A thread that was for fans of an artist turns into a told you so eBay monitor.
Art is more than being right.

After standard ebay and paypal fees, the profit is £37.55. Divide by 12 hrs, assuming you waited since 5:30 am, that's £3.13 per hr. Average UK McDonalds salary is £7.
What a bunch of dumb losers.

Oli Epp 🇬🇧 Post-Digital Pop • New Painting • Art For Sale, by crashwilliams on Dec 14, 2019 16:07:36 GMT 1, I was there at 5am - I was first in the queue, as were two others both of whom are good friends. By 9.30 there was probably ten of us - none of whom are planning to flip this, they're fans and wanted this print, and to support Oli.
Your theory is wrong re the 5am flippers and you're full of shit.
I'll be sure to send you a piccy of mine when it's up on the wall

It’s probably one of the families that brought their kids and all got one now desperate to sell. I don’t think it’s a bad print just because they’re not doubling in value 2 days after release. Lol

Oli Epp 🇬🇧 Post-Digital Pop • New Painting • Art For Sale, by Express Post on Dec 14, 2019 16:19:21 GMT 1, Aimed at flippers mate. You could have gone to work and got paid instead of sacrificing an rdo, or annual leave and still had more money left over buying for £875 plus shipping.
And there is no way of verifying that everyone was there to buy for keeps. But given the tragically low result, they just might have no choice now.

Maybe he actually wanted to go and see the opening night of the show and not just be there to buy a print😉

Was a surprisingly good time in the queue, met guys that I chat to on IG and here, saw my framer and even broke the queue for an hour or so and a trip to Wong Kei for food.
Was first into the gallery and had a good ten minute chat with Oli and Ben Spiers, - bar those two, I had the gallery to myself and was able to enjoy the new works -it was a good day and night.
Not that it matters but I also picked up print 1/100

Oli Epp 🇬🇧 Post-Digital Pop • New Painting • Art For Sale, by Aubrey 245 on Dec 14, 2019 20:58:25 GMT 1, I've been to London and I am really happy about getting my first Oli Epp print, will frame and enjoy it.
Oli is a real lovely person, super polite nice guy. The print is amazing, just as all the canvas at the show.
But the whole Kostyal release procedure was really weak. People waited in the cold the whole day long, soaked in rain, wet clothes.. As the show finally opened, the queuing people still had to wait, as about 30-40 VIP guests were allowed to go inside first. Staff treated the queuing people really poor, impolite arrogant Kostyal people.
Not Olis fault, he was amazing, but I hope he finds a better gallery to represent his work.

Oli Epp 🇬🇧 Post-Digital Pop • New Painting • Art For Sale, by Express Post on Dec 14, 2019 21:18:41 GMT 1, Thanks for sharing your experience. I recognise conditions were tough. But the choice was made to stand out there and brave the weather. It's not on the gallery to work that shįt out. People have only got themselves to blame for not being weather ready. We all knew it was coming, it was in every bulletin and forecast. Adulting can be hard sometimes. As a VIP I can say that we appreciate the preferential treatment. We spend the tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands on the gallery's other artists that print buyers don't spend money on. We basically keep the lights on at the gallery. We are an integral part of the gallery's business as opposed to a print buyer that hits them up once every blue moon. Yeh, your experience sucked. I was in your place once upon a time. Hated it and went out and did something about it.

Oli Epp 🇬🇧 Post-Digital Pop • New Painting • Art For Sale, by Winks on Dec 14, 2019 21:51:03 GMT 1, Thanks for sharing your experience. I've been to London and I am really happy about getting my first Oli Epp print, will frame and enjoy it.

Oli Epp 🇬🇧 Post-Digital Pop • New Painting • Art For Sale, by Poster Bob on Dec 14, 2019 22:21:57 GMT 1, I unnecessarily stood outside in bad weather for an unneeded amount of time to purchase a print. I feel a sense of entitlement as a result of my willingness to shroud myself in a tarp and resent those that spend tens of thousands at the gallery and are true VIPs. Something tells me that those who are complaining voted Labour.

Oli Epp 🇬🇧 Post-Digital Pop • New Painting • Art For Sale, by JL Broooks on Dec 14, 2019 22:43:46 GMT 1, The ‘VIPs’ were Oli’s family and closest friends / business partners, in addition to fellow artists which to be honest gave the whole evening an extra touch. The level of trolling on this forum just reaches new highs every day (and then I absolutely don’t refer to the ones in here that queued - you know who you are, I agree that it was a wee bit of chaos a while at the hour of opening). The print release was done as good and honest as absolutely possible. Everyone that queued were taken good care of and got what they came for. The gallery and Oli even came up with gluhntwein several times the last hours before the opening .

Oli Epp 🇬🇧 Post-Digital Pop • New Painting • Art For Sale, by cnrdvln on Dec 15, 2019 0:14:57 GMT 1, never bought a print but follow him in insta and like his work, seems like a really nice guy and responds to fans. seen the drink being passed out in the waiting line and thought that was a nice touch.
there are a few other up and coming artists with the same manner and it's great to see, hope it lasts as they move onwards and upwards - regardless of the gallery etc. association
