Oli Epp π¬π§ Post-Digital Pop β’ New Painting β’ Art For Sale, by Poster Bob on Dec 17, 2019 23:39:13 GMT 1, The fact that you only quoted five women validates my sweeping generalization. Art is still very much a man's game. If you want to make money stay away from women.
Some fcktards made a lot from Julie Curtiss, Shara Hughes, Jordan Casteel, Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Avery Singer. Averys that cost $30k went for $750k after holding for 2-3 years. Njideka's work that cost $60k in 2015 sold of $2million years later. Since no one is giving me any of their money, I don't give a fuc*k how people spend it. It's yours, you do what you want. If your money is on Fridriks, so be it. Only fuc*ktards invest in women. It's just not done. That said, my money is on Katrin Fridriks for the win and Tracy Emin is disgustingly undervalued.Β

While we're talking women artists, I'd give my spleen for a large Cecily Brown canvas.

Oli Epp π¬π§ Post-Digital Pop β’ New Painting β’ Art For Sale, by avec art on Dec 19, 2019 23:42:33 GMT 1, not having seen this in person, I'm not entirely qualified to speak. But I think I get this print now. This is what you see when you've been out on the tiles and you're completely rat arsed and you dive into a joint to buy a kebab, and this is what you see, which explains the double vision. Apologies if this has been said before or is too obvious to mention.

Oli Epp π¬π§ Post-Digital Pop β’ New Painting β’ Art For Sale, by kuni on Dec 22, 2019 14:53:14 GMT 1, So no talk discussion about the artist and the technique etc etc. Just a lot of moaning about waiting outside in the rain being attacked by ice bears and cod from the wavenado climate erupting flip flopping versus the entitled vipsters. So anyway, the technique used by Oli seems a very simple acrylic? stencil stencil and airbrush or spray method with a bit of oil paint hand finishing here and there. It's very simple and he has made it go a long way. can you elaborate on the technique a bit? How does he achieve the sections of photorealistic detail?

Yes it looks like it's done with stencils for the large bits of the painting, large flat areas and then some hand painting with oil paints using a fine small soft bristled brush such as acrylic or watercolour brush. I'm sure it is very enjoyable pursuit for the artist as it puts the finishing touches to the big painting.

They seem to be a continuation or addition to the artwork that was not the intention of the artist. They change the visual impact of the piece in a way not envisaged by the artist. Iβm not sure Iβd feel that I have the right to do that. Very much each to their own, though. It is nice to see these framed.

i donβt think the artist could have sided with either option being that its was released as a 2D work on paper. if you think of a framed print as 3D work, the spacer become the canvas edges, where you would have artist extending their work to the canvas margins.
Some artist take edges as main focus point for their work, Erik Parker does amazing on his wooden planks and canvases with graphics being on the margins.
