The best win I had was a few years back in France.
I was backing horses with a music connection in their names and the winner of the last race was called Ledzep.
I had 40 euros each way and it came in at 20/1. My best win to date.
There are often plenty of horses with an arty or Banksy connection or tenuous link in their name.
Love Rat at 25/1 is running in the 1-40 at Doncaster today if anyoneโs interested.

We put in $10 each for each week, one person bets that week (with $50) and the round ends after all 5 of us have bet (so 5 weeks for each round). After the round, any winnings are added to our $50 for each week. then at the end of footy season, we take any winnings and go on a trip away.
Last year we had about $3k to play with.
But anyway, with horses and dogs, I go by form, odds and boxes/traps. If a horse in form or a good track record has a box or two empty next to him, that's a good bet. Means he wont get boxed in by slower horses.
Name cant influence me a little but generally only when im tossing up between 2 horses.

I prefer to bet on the night where we make the market ๐ค

Gambling is ruining families. The young are on line gambling on any sport. When sports events are on all you hear is,i backed this and i backed that. You hear them talking more about the betting than the event itself.
The old are in collecting their pension and spending huge amounts on lottery tickets.
