Banksy • Girl With Red Balloon Print, by pr.yu on Feb 8, 2018 21:30:25 GMT 1, There would be a 20-25% buyers premium on that though.. Again, that's with buyer's premium. Phillips also takes a cut from the seller. So the buyer paid 40K GBP and the seller got less than 32K GBP (must be nice to be an auction house, eh?). I'm just saying the private sale price for such items is somewhere in the middle of all that. There are endless threads on this topic on this forum, and I'd agree with someone earlier up top that taking 5% off gallery prices or auction sales probably doesn't reflect what the private sale price should be. That all being said, I'd want as much as I could get for the print if I owned it myself and were selling it. Good luck to OP. I'd say sorry for derailing the thread, but at least the discussion keeps bumping this to the top of the board.

Banksy • Girl With Red Balloon Print, by tab1 on Feb 8, 2018 21:33:05 GMT 1, Any banksy prints are always going to be listed higher than the last listed price of gallery or auction , sellers don’t really discount fees as they see that’s what the person that won at auction paid so that’s the price sellers expect. Would say good deed to discount fees here but they don’t have to. It will eventually sell but will be drawn out One of those prints that the market dictates so best at auction This forum is good if just under market rates for banksy do not think you will get top rate here unless a gallery contacts you here ?

The buyer pays £40k for a print with condition issue, is that clear?? You’re dreaming at £32k..

It's also clear that someone paid $38K USD on eBay not long ago.

Banksy • Girl With Red Balloon Print, by sanssouci on Feb 13, 2018 19:07:19 GMT 1, If you are comparing your valuation with hang up prices you are way off.. They are one of the most expensive galleries and have huge overheads to consider.. theirs has also sat unsold for a long time. In short they would accept £42000 and people expect a better deal privately.. I think you need to be under 40 I was at Hang Up in November and they showed me 3 unsigned GWRB prints, pricing was 45K (each, hahaha)...

Banksy • Girl With Red Balloon Print, by highflyer on Feb 14, 2018 15:25:27 GMT 1, Show me where you can purchase one under 40k. Take your time highflyer, no rush.
Do you really think I'm going to go out and find you one for less?
I've paid THOUSANDS less for Banksy prints compared to what the monkeys on here value them at.
Oh, and the OP said he'd take under £40k.
What you cretins don't understand is auction houses pump money into advertising and have a far greater reach than this forum does. Buyers also have more security with auction houses (debatable I know but in general).
I bet you I could find one for £30k if I could be bothered.

Pointless trying to explain some people just fail to see the bigger picture. All owners of banksy prints would see is the latest highest auction sale And price as that even if it were a charity sale. Two sides , sellers will only seek and disclose highest sales , buyers would find all sales prices ,lows and highs
