Laz was selling your image but on 2 canvases for £2500 ( pre the LA madness) .
At Southerbys a Gangsta Rat with a smaller run but larger size picture went for around £20k .

Mike Snelle Gallery were selling Kids with Guns for £18k
The thing is the GWB is very sought after, if original and sold via a reputable Gallery with Provenance you will get £45k, however, you will only see £30k of that I reckon.
£12k is far too little for an important piece like this, and yes the duplicate image on two canvases was on sale for £2.5k - but that was close on a year ago now.
Insurance should be for £50k

If as you say you have all the receipts etc you have an extremely sought after item. its possibly one of his most loved works. Unsigned prints have sold for nearly £3,000 pounds on e bay. I have never seen a signed one on ebay let alone a canvas. 
If i were you i would sell it through a gallery as they have people who would pay through the teeth for this. Phone Laz he will have a list as long as your arm of celebs that would pay...... 
Needless to say look after it and love it while you can justify still keeping it on your wall.

LOL BOMBHUGGER! Buffruffly - kudos on your pick up! That is what matters - that you originally purchased it because you liked the work - and had no intention/idea of its investment potential. You may want to consider selling it because you could probably buy 10 works from new artists that you like :-) My recommendation is that you should have it insured for at least 30K GBP.

But i also know that spending £300-£500 on a Canvas was also a big deal when you could buy prints for £40.
Monochrome......Antipida gallery sold a small flower thrower canvas and another canvas for £45K , but these were much smaller runs ...out of 5 I think, I saw them on the Wall behind his desk when I was dealing with him.
Just remember the Southerbys auction as that would probably be a good guide on prices.

the last signed GWB was pre LA madness and was pulled when it got to £2500. this print is up there with Christ, Radar etc - and I know that this print was sold some months ago by a London Gallery for £4,500 - again pre LA.
the print would be between £6-8k as it's the most 'acceptable' Banksy image to have hanging in the lounge. the canvas, well now you can see why it's desirable.

Not Really ,needed the money at the time and I still have one ( print not canvas) and a rat and a cwb and a diff canvas etc etc
I hope for you ( and me...no I dont have this image ) that the canvas is now worth £45K..It is certainly 1 of my favourite images.
I just always try to err on the side of caution as I find it is better to be surprissed by how much it makes above what I was expecting rather than to be disappointed by it not making as much as I had hoped.
