Correct, I don't think his market is mature yet. 16 years is nothing in art market history. Check where Banksy stands in the top selling 500 living artists vs where he should be (if like me you think he is one of the most important living artists)...

I have never understood the "social commentary" of this piece.
IMO.The heart shaped balloon flying away in the wind, with a bandaid on the side, speaks much more to me. The girl is not needed.
I do think the shredded version is classic.
I don't necessarily hate the image, but if somebody told me that it wasn't actually designed by Banksy, I would be tempted to believe it.

The troll account that has since been deleted advised the vendor not to take less than £90 or consign to auction. I pointed out that may not be the best idea given that the last unsigned hammered at £70k (£87k with fees) at Bonhams in December so the vendor would have netted about £65-70k. A print outside the edition hammered at £85k (£107k with fees), at Sotheby’s last month which is obviously more valuable than the edition of 600. If he listened to that guy he could be quite a bit worse off if the auction doesn’t go his way. I have no interest in buying this print nor the available funds |

It’s worth noting that in addition to the Sotheby’s online auction in March where the GWRB with heart sold for £106,250 one with a heart also sold in Sotheby’s online in September 2019 for £106,250. Strange coincidence maybe?
