Due to forseen circumstances (ie. having a baby) having unforseen consequences (I never envisaged it would be this expensive) I am looking to part with one of my favourite pieces of art - my unsigned Girl With Red Balloon print.

Bought directly from Pictures On Walls in late 2004 it is unsigned, numbered, unstamped (as part of the batch were) and in excellent A1 condition. Initially the print went on the wall in the living room of the shared house I was living in but once I realised it was worth more than the contents of the room it was sent away to my parents. Due to a lack of wall space in our current place its been at my folks ever since and as such lovingly cared for.

I'm currently waiting on COA from Pest Control but as I have the relevant paperwork, email confirmation etc I'm hopeful this will be sorted smoothly.

I am not in a rush to sell - indeed waiting for the COA dictates that - but I thought I would throw this out there to see if any one is interested and start the selling process.

Looking for £4.5k or nearest offer (aggressive lowballers please don't waste your time).

I am also interested in trades and I would consider one of the following plus cash:

- Banksy unsigned print (interested in Monkey Queen, Turf War, any of the rats, I Fought The Law, Applause, Morons, Tesco Soup Can and black and white Trolleys)

- Barnaby the Committee (for the little uns room)

- Sarah Morris White Cube edition screen print (for the life of me can't remember the title for it but it was one of her building ones and if I see it I'll recognise it)

- Sweet Toof - the Critics (black and white or colour version)

- Isokon Penguin Donkey 2

- Auping Cleopatra daybed

- Slinkachu print from the Concrete Ocean exhibiion

These are really the only types of things I would consider for a trade I'm affraid (got lots of work but not very much space to put it so need to specific)

I'm based in Leeds. Due to the value of print I'd prefer to meet in person and am willing to travel within reason. I've exchanged a few pieces here before (once with Bongo!) and also sold a number of prints on eBay.

Agree with JP. 2750 is truly unbelievable. the fact someone would let this print go for this is either stupidity or desperation.

I've had quite a few interesting offers in, am going to chew over them during the next few days and get back to everyone and go from there.

Re price always contentious and appreciate the input. I've always kept an eye out and I think at the moment the price for unsigned has settled around this mark. So unless something bonkers happens I will go for the top end of £4.5k

Hopefully she will find a good home. I still remember exactly why I bought the piece - being hacked off by my ex girlfriend and thinking that the message in the print was pretty apt - and it has been great to have her around but when she goes she will go towards something really important that's happening now.

However, before I get too sentimental... One thing I haven't forgiven is the fact that she told me not to bother getting her signed and spend (nee waste, in the cold light of day) the difference on some cheap Tokion prints . The only time I've been cross with the girl with the red balloon!

I think this WCP is still selling them on the bay..
