Pejac Paris show June 20th - 24th, by kjg on May 10, 2018 9:08:07 GMT 1, May be a silly question but one for those who have been to Pejac shows previously and scored a piece how do you pay for them I mean do they take payment with cards and which ones - asking because I often go into places and they don't take Amex or Mastercard etc.
Well, if there will be a print for sale (I think not) prepare to pay by card. Visa is widely accepted in Europe as is MasterCard.

I am American and happen to think his work is fantastic. There are only a handful of new or current artists in my opinion that are doing something unique in the streets and Pejac is one.
Just to be clear... What is your definition of cultural appropriation exactly? I have no idea what point you are trying to make in reference to Pejac's work. Is it your view that all cultural references are only to be made by the referenced culture? If you are referencing the Seppuku piece are you in belief that there are not successful Japanese artists and that Pejac is in someway holding back the Japanese art culture but selling this as a print?

I mean people here will pay hundreds of dollars on a poster of soup cans, go nuts over comic book images pasted on a pretty woman's face, or throw some uninspired tags on any image, make it a limited edition print, well that my friend is an instant sell out.
Or even better have one huge auction result and an artist becomes a instant master here.
I'm not passing judgement on Pejac. I'd say give him some time. Maybe give him 10 years and see what he does. He might not be half bad, too early to tell.

Mix money with somewhat ignorant opinions and you get heated debates about some silly shit. You get people chasing formulaic artist often with great PR teams, limited talent and no original ideas because there is some money to be made. Add to that a whole lot of white, male privilege and it becomes hard to recognize our own ignorance and inability to objectively recognize quality in art, never mind identifying racism or cultural appropriation. I mean people here will pay hundreds of dollars on a poster of soup cans, go nuts over comic book images pasted on a pretty woman's face, or throw some uninspired tags on any image, make it a limited edition print, well that my friend is an instant sell out. Or even better have one huge auction result and an artist becomes a instant master here. I'm not passing judgement on Pejac. I'd say give him some time. Maybe give him 10 years and see what he does. I agree with the subsequent post that this forum does seem to latch onto and hype some mediocre artists. Not that we can't have our own opinions but the hype machine runs crazy for a few artists when it should not. As for Pejac, I like his art but won't pay $5k for a print.
