Pejac Paris show June 20th - 24th, by caruso on Jun 28, 2018 8:51:07 GMT 1, Not disputing that, just be honest about it. To be honest I strongly doubt any of these lottery methods are fair. I would put money on either holding back prints to give to 'friends' or putting prints to the side to give to others who reciprocate. Its the only reason I can see that so many of the usual suspects on here 'win' these lottery systems. The only question - if this can be proved is it illegal?? Maybe something to think about and look into.
I think you're right. My guess is only 60/80 are available in the lottery. 600 cards printed initially means a 10% chance, seems fair and logical. Now with almost twice that many one entry is a small 5%.

Pejac Paris show June 20th - 24th, by caruso on Jun 28, 2018 8:52:53 GMT 1, regardless how the lottery is done, i dont really care. i never expected to win, with one ticket i have more chance not getting one than i do getting one, i was happy with the mini print regardless to be honest, and its the one of the better lotterys ive seen anyway, with so much money being raised for a worthwhile charity that the artist likes, who can really complain, if its true they sold nearly a 1000, then fair play, thats an extra 20,000 euros for a worthwhile cause.
Agreed, but the extra carbon footprint of the people who travelled to enter and wouldn't have otherwise can't be ignored, especially since the show and charity are environment focused.

Pejac Paris show June 20th - 24th, by whob1 on Jun 28, 2018 9:23:18 GMT 1, The negative about this is that not everyone has a chance to travel. And the people who could, could buy unlimited tickets for family and friends, and keep them all. If it was "buy one print per person" at the exhibition, it would have been better in my opinion. Fair/unfair, it is what it is, and a luxury problem after all. To get a Miller print you are more or less selectively picked. I think today we will see some people end up with several prints.
Good luck everyone!

Shame its the same old faces 'winning' the prints though. An unusual mixture of philanthropy and corruption.

I think people pick what's most fair if it would have helped them. People in the states would complain they can't make it due to costs, some that did will complain that another person could afford to buy more than 1 etc.
If someone 'wins' 10 prints in there mums dogs sisters name then so be it ! That's no different to every other single release by a gallery

Yes there is, you can’t be online and buy 10 prints on a single release...

Pejac Paris show June 20th - 24th, by Graham H on Jun 28, 2018 9:45:58 GMT 1, Two things we seem to be forgetting is that this was about an art display by a great artist.. not really about going just to buy a ticket.. I went for the show, not to buy a ticket..but bought one as would be expected as I was there.
The second thing to remember is that there will be a massive amount of money going to a charity on the back of the process.. which is great.. and should also hopefully be more important than threads saying how disappointed they are / unfair / annoyed they missed out
Is it just me, or does it stand to reason that Max will look at the situation and not allocate more than one print to a person or address.. if they are drawn out more than once.
Yes, you will have a better chance than someone who has entered only once, but you wont be getting more than one. From my undertsanding, Max's thoughts is to get the artists work into the hands of as many new collectors in as many different places as possible.. to build his collector base to quote art industry cliche...so to sell more than one to one person makes no sense.
Just for ref, I went to the show and only bought one ticket ( my wife went with me and didnt buy one ).. If i am lucky, great.. i love the image, if not, i really enjoyed the show and love the artists work and am excited to see what he plans next
Short message that turned into a waffle.. sorry!
G

Agree many people complains, but discussing a release method is not to complain, thats discussing and should be allowed in a forum. I am just claiming that by using this way of releasing a print, it is a higher propability that one person secures more prints than other methods.

I don’t understand how you can know that, and state it as a fact. I know lots of people, myself included, who think this is an ok system, and have entered only once, myself included.
Generally (not directed at the post I’ve quoted) yes, the system is open to abuse. As are many. I entered the Banksy lottery only once. And failed! Bottom line for me, circa 20 grand is going to charity, and we all have a reasonable chance of an opportunity to buy.
