Is PC compensating you in any way for doing you such wrong?

What sort of compensation do you expect PC to provide given that all they have done is flag something that they thought was suspect ? I appreciate that this has been most unfortunate for you and your family but what they are doing is protecting people like yourself who own Banksy prints.

Maybe it is because the story has more holes than a block of swiss cheese.  Multiple timeline issues, a very questionable assumption of who the accuser is.  To be frank there is no story other than some elderly people were apparently harassed by the police.  None of it makes sense to be honest.  As for the numbering issues, yes, edition numbers were given away erroneously, however it is my experience, and the experience of others who I have dealt with, that PC has more than compensated for these and other mistakes, as was the case with me.

Mate I am happy to post the entire timeline here or PM you I have the exact DAYS things happened. Pls point out the holes you are talking about. Have you actually seen the photos I posted from 2005? How could it have been nicked in 2011 when it was on my folks wall in 2005 you troll?

OK apologies. Its just frustrating when all that really matters at this stage is whether PC believe the print is authentic (Which i'm 99.9% it is because there wasn't a market for fakes in 2005. If they think its authentic they should issue a COA it they don't they should say so. What they shouldn't do is ignore me and the people who are contacting them in the hope we will go away.  

I just read the Timeline you sent to me and things are much clearer.  You should perhaps post that online so that it is clear to everyone.  When you were posting bits and bobs in real time, there were many times you backtracked and changed earlier statements.  It did not seem as though you had your facts correct.  My experience with PC was very different to yours, and involved the authentication of a print which I was told was not authentic despite purchase receipts, etc.

I have had another print authenticated and it was a very straight forward process and their communication was good. That was however several years ago. 

Did you ever find out who the accuser actually was?  Calling PC to tell them the case is closed does not make them the people who filed the stolen report.

Nope just a person in south london who claims to have had the same edition number stolen from their domestic property in 2011. Some of this will be lost in translation. You aren't in the UK and the average burglar in the UK wouldn't know a banksy from a picasso. They are usually junkies who just want small things they can smuggle out without detection. But thats another story and an easy case to have made had it actually gone to court

Was it you or your mother who purchased the print?

We now believe it was my mother as it would show on my bank statement like the other POW purchase. Unless POW were so out of it they forgot to charge me.. It was joint present but I think my mum paid. Hell it was 14 years ago now. 

If you were in fact the original purchaser, why did you not seek PC authorization? 

AS previously stated I only realised COA were a thing when my donuts print turned up with one. Thats when I applied for one for my other print and was successful. My parents owned barcode and I kept hassling them to apply for for a COA but they didn't get round to it til 2018. I guess if they would have applied anytime between 2011 - 2018 we would have had the same outcome.

It was a joint purchase we paid 50/50 we just weren't sure who's account the money came out of

Again, I am just reading this because you posted it on a forum, you don't have to prove anything to me, however it does seem that there are a lot of inconsistencies in your story.  Again, you don't have to prove anything to me, but if you post on here about this experience and are claiming that an entity, which many of us have used and whose reputation holds baring on the value of art we own, was essentially accusing you of theft or fraud, then you should be very very very prepared to defend yourself and have all of your facts straight.

PC has never accused me of anything.. You are misunderstanding or haven't read events correctly. The police have obviously provided them with a list of prints that have been reported stolen..We applied to COA. PC tell the police etc...  But as someone has kindly PM-ed me today stating PC do seem to operate a guilty until proven innocent policy. I think mostly they should leave policing to police. EG:- If I was annoyed that I had sold a banksy years ago to someone for cash and it was now worth loads of money. Why not call and have it reported stolen? Seems to be a particular consequence-free act to me. I wish my last 15 months had been consequence free but I've actually had to take time off work with stress and at once stage was threatened with arrest for not being able to make an appointment to 'help' the police.
