Its a good set, I think - I havent been tempted by the past couple of sales but there are quite a few in here I like.

The Templeton is prob my favourite - and a nice link to his new book. I like the Hido too but I think the format is too small for it - his house shots work well in this format but I'm not sure about the nature ones. BTW If anyone is looking for a first Hido, he has a couple of nice open signed editions on his website that come in a bigger size.

The problem for me is do I want another small piece on the wall? - I have 8 up around the house already which I think is prob enough.

Still time to decide.

I found 5 or 6 that I really liked, including that Rene Burri, but in the end I just got the Steve McCurry. The problem with these series is that there are so many good choices at a low price that you can easily over purchase and end up with a bunch of small random photos.

I think it's best to either have a theme (black and white portraits, colorful landscapes, war, music, etc.) or just collect an artist in depth. I'm doing that now for McCurry and Elliot Erwitt (mainly for his funny black and whites with animals). This way I have some focus and end up with photos on the wall will make a greater impression.

If anyone has a past sale McCurry that's not on the wall let me know, I have a gap that needs filling

How often do you get to buy a work of art literally created not on this world and I'm not sure i've ever seen any other Neil Armstrong photos for sale.

I know it's not signed and only estate stamped, but I think sometimes that doesn't matter. I got a Robert Capa in one of the past sales and love it.

Since some have mentioned the Armstrong photo and for those that like space photography: there was an auction that only had these sorts of photos, but all of them vintage prints. Some iconic, many gorgeous. Just browsing though the catalogue was a joy:
