Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by shinkaiser on Sept 12, 2018 12:54:46 GMT 1, I find it hard to believe you would not have at least obtained something from this release.....then there's the fact you were overlooked for H4 as well. I personally don't believe in coincidences, do you think Heni may have blacklisted you? Do they have a reason to? No, I have never dealt with Heni before... so no reason to black list me. Just weird how I was passed over last time and have heard nothing this time. Oh well, maybe they are still sorting through their large list of buyers. Hopefully that's the case - best of luck!

The last I knew, you don't work for the Tate or Heni. You've just chosen a completely random number based of absolutely no knowledge of the applicants situation.

Ten days from there makes it Friday (and that's if they include weekends) so I'm guessing the second round of offers wont be posted until Monday or possibly even later.

Got two invoices dated August 31st for the record (albeit the email was sent later indeed).

Note sure what your guess is based on (since people are already successfully flipping these, many people could be tempted to buy just to make a quick buck). But I do hope you are right, so that more people on here will get a chance at getting the print.

This did make me lol!
I knew 10 people there, and all of them have paid for theirs. So going by that it’s 100%.
I queued with 3 of them and I have had no invoice, I was on the heni list.
😐 holding out..but I don’t think it looks good

In my opinion there won’t be a lot of people who actually did not pay/ accept the buying offer. On the on hand for collectors it’s a Hirst at a really “cheap” price and on the other one flippers see a lot of “potential” in this decent price tag...
Anyways good luck for anybody for the second round - I am sure there will be at least a few happy members!

This is really odd. The Heni list people were ahead of us Tate members. You should have got one! Me and my crowd were in second place place in the Tate members line and we all got something in the end. Did you declare your interest for only one piece? If not, something must have gone wrong for sure with your application - in which case you should contact them, since this does not sound right at all.

I don’t think how many you applied for made any difference. I think they messed up... I’ve had ‘Tate will be in contact’ response with on going conversations between Heni and Tate, been in there at the weekend to speak to them but no one taking responsibility....However...I actually don’t think everyone will pay, more so to those who were offered more than 1 and not their choices. I didn’t want to get annoyed and moan about it but I have lost a little patience just because they haven’t given me any explanation what so ever.

I have a strong feeling that the Heni list people only got the chance to see the art and fill in the application form ahead of others. They most likely split the handling of the forms amongst several people, from there your allocation is totally dependant on the speed and precision of your handler. This is all my theory, it may not have happened this way but it doesn't look like they gave any priority to Heni applicants....
Also, I'm certain there was a round of applicants before they were even announced to Heni members/general public.

As far as I know the applications were numbered sequentially (with number added on the form after it had been handled in - and I have been told that they would process them sequentially). I handed it among the very first ones among Tate members, and my number was already quite high, so I had assumed that the previous numbers were the Heni applications.

Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by charliec2701 on Sept 13, 2018 8:32:32 GMT 1, As I’ve said on numerous occasions Heni are absolutely tosh when it comes to customer service, reasoning and communication. Fortunately for them the quality of the works that I’ve purchased thus far have been great. So whilst it’s chaos for most of us, the end results tend to pacify those in power at both the Serpentine and possibly the Tate suitably enough to continue further working relationship. The sooner Heni are removed from the equation the better in my humble opinion.

I did not attend the launch event but filled in the form online a few hours later...and got my first choice. I've been a Tate member for many years now so perhaps they gave preference to long-term Tate members. Hope you are lucky in the second round. I'm sure it wont be 100% acceptance but who knows.

I would love to know Heni's criteria on these things as they seem to have made very odd decisions. Perhaps they just tip all the forms on to a table and its a lucky dip.

Damien Hirst H4 • Veils, by Happy Shopper on Sept 13, 2018 10:59:10 GMT 1, it's crazy... not sure what the criteria is for selection. I actually offered to buy all 8 prints but have been offered nothing so far... I figured worst case they would offer me the larger spots which seem the least popular??? No offence but if you asked to buy all 8 prints perhaps they thought you were probably a flipper. I would love to know Heni's criteria on these things as they seem to have made very odd decisions. Perhaps they just tip all the forms on to a table and its a lucky dip. You were allowed to buy 8 if you wanted, or just one and say you'd be happy with any. There was no restriction on that.
Edit: What's more likely is that they were only selling so many complete sets, so rather than offer just 1 or a few, they didn't offer anything. Slightly odd, but I assume they didn't have time to contact every buyer and check what they'd like instead of what they asked for.

I know you were 'allowed' to buy all 8 but, if you worked at Heni, what would you do when something is oversubscribed? Give one person 8 prints or 8 people one print each? P.S. and I still think wanting to buy all 8 prints shouts "flipper" to me, even if they are not a flipper.
