Iโm assuming if I offered the buyer to sell at $7k usd, the seller would say yes bc they are saving $600. And as a seller I make $7k. |

No - you're very unlikely to sell something for that cut, roughly 8% lower than the top auction sale (in the example you gave). There are very few buyers purchasing in auctions to begin with, and I'm guessing those that do, don't realize that this print could easily be had for less.
Normally sellers discount pieces by at least 25% from what a top auction inc BP. For example, if a work sold for a 100K in an auction (inc BP), a private sale would most likely be around 70-80K. It's more fair to both parties, as the seller would have only got 64K and the buyer paid 100K (on my 100K example), so you meet somewhere in the middle.
The other reason for not getting "top dollar" (as a seller), is that the private sale is much more discreet. Not many people are going to throw an A+ work into auction, and risk being blacklisted by a few good galleries. A private sale to someone you might know, could protect your reputation if so needed and/or desired, and that alone could be priceless!
