LONDON Framers • Who do you Recommend? , by Coach on Jan 1, 2010 3:43:03 GMT 1, Hello mate - and welcome to the forum. Happy new year. I have had lots of pieced frames by mrframeman - as have lots of people on this forum - and the general feedback has been very good - certainly I can say that all the pieces he has framed for me have been done to a fantastic standard, imo. MFM is a mmber here - pm him. Cheers c

Agree with Coach. I've had lots done by Mr Frameman over the last 18 months and I've been delighted with the results every time.

LONDON Framers • Who do you Recommend? , by twinkle on Jan 15, 2010 22:36:10 GMT 1, I expect this has been covered a million times befoe but hey I'm new and would really appreciate some sound advice.
Having started my collection with a Banksy NBG and Dran's recent POW release Free Speech I want to get them framed well. I'm thinking of giving the Banksy some real love and going for UV glass etc, the Dran I figure I can get away something of good quality but cheaper.
So, where and who in London will do a good trustworthy job on both? My budget is up to £200 on the NBG and obviously less on the Dran.
Thanks in advance for any help offered.

LONDON Framers • Who do you Recommend? , by rsj on Apr 30, 2010 1:02:27 GMT 1, I am looking to frame a canvas I own in a tray frame (no glass) and am wondering where in London I should go for that as not all framers seem to do that.
I assume it's a relatively simple procedure, but want to make sure it's done properly so that it doesn't damage the canvas.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

LONDON Framers • Who do you Recommend? , by shinybrite on May 2, 2010 20:57:43 GMT 1, Hi there
I've had all mine done at a local framers to me, luckily they're really good, so it's easy for me; they know their stuff, and use all the best materials, so they're not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Glessons, Raynes Park.
I haven't used a tray frame before, but they do have them. I don't think you should expect this method to damage the canvas, but it will be held to the frame by screwing through the frame & into the canvas. There is a way of using a tray frame & not screwing through, but it would mean losing the invisible look of the tray frame, by applying a small frame around the edge of the canvas.
PS, there are far fewer choices in tray frames, than normal frames!
Best wishes - Jack

They use all the best kit, know what they're doing, and have really good ideas if you don't know what to do; I know lots of Banksys have been done their.

LONDON Framers • Who do you Recommend? , by shinybrite on May 2, 2010 22:30:22 GMT 1, PS - your budget is a bit tight, you might do it on that, but if you have what you want, and with all the extras, you'll be pushing that. Good framing in London can be very pricey, but do it right, and it's a one time job.

LONDON Framers • Who do you Recommend? , by spirit on May 2, 2010 22:46:28 GMT 1, shinybrite/jack if you are an owner/employee/connected to Glessons (just a wild guess as you sure seem to be pushing them hard tonight) then it would be better to make that clear from the start.
Also worth noting the dates - this thread is over 3 months old so I imagine twinkle is sorted by now.

I'm answering all questions in one big hit as I'm unlikely to be by again any time soon.
And again, you're welcome ;-)

Rexy,
It might be a bit far for you (4 / 5 miles or so?), but if it is within your range, check out S'Grafitti in Stoke Newington.
I get all of my framing done there and I find them professional, good quality and reasonably priced.
If you do go, tell them Adam sent you. It might get me a reduced price on the next piece!
Regards,
Adam.

LONDON Framers • Who do you Recommend? , by gritty on Sept 30, 2010 17:59:05 GMT 1, I couldn't care how many Banksy prints the bloke has framed.
Perhaps stick to flogging below average prints and leave the attempts at humour to other people jboy.
