It seems no matter what they ask, or what the secondary market price is on previous releases, there are mega rich idiots who will pay for the "exclusivity". Just to be able to say they have one.
I can't say I blame either of them, but it does piss older (poorer) collectors off.

I'm not sure the value of the older stuff does always go up though. Certain pieces, but not all.
Banksy was a more natural thing, caused by secondary market sales, not forced up by primary source price rises.

I suppose it's an easy percentage, so perhaps they don't fuss about the image, but perhaps they should try to steer the artists to making images that will actually sell. |
