Damien Hirst H4 v Paul Insect The Ultimate Journey, by moron on Jul 17, 2018 21:56:30 GMT 1, It's chalk and cheese really. Insect can paint and Hirst can't.
Hirst is a fan and gave insect a show or bought a lot of his paintings I think.
Paul Insect is my preference because I like pop art style prints of attractive ladies faces who look like they are advertising oven cleaner.

Damien Hirst H4 v Paul Insect The Ultimate Journey, by Express Post on Jul 17, 2018 22:23:43 GMT 1, Regardless of skill, which is obvious between the two artists, Hirst dominates with his brand which is why his prints can sell for more than a Paul Insect original.
I purposely left out a criteria, money versus talent, so that individuals could apply their own values and make their own decisions.

True Hirst definately dominates when it comes to the mega wealthy collectors. For me a print or a painting etc has to have a direct physical link to the artist, as in the artist painted or collages the original image with their own hands. Hirst has done it with his latest prints and Insect paints his own paintings.
With all his wealth behind him Hirst does not seem to be pushing any boundaries.

He tired that with his last show it and bombed. He then continues to revisit his past to try and have it re-imagined to the likes of just larger spot paintings.
I'm still surprised his recent release was so talked about on this forum. Without the possible flip, which i still find iffy to be honest. I would rather have a Jago over his recent release.
I did like the pill series prints which can still be bought for almost cost and still don't seem to be popular.

Damien Hirst H4 v Paul Insect The Ultimate Journey, by kalm on Jul 17, 2018 22:56:23 GMT 1, Tough call...right now? Insect...he’s en Fuego.
But...Hirst was the first to do a lot of subjects....errr at least the first to steal the ideas. Check out the first 10-15 years of Hirsts work, innovative artist...way, way, way before anyone else.

If you had £3000, would you allocate the funds to the Hirst, no money left over after VAT, or to the Insect, regular or variant, and have some money left over.

Theoretically you could sell that Hirst and then buy 2 Paul Insects

Your suggestion means Paul Insect gets the vote.

If this was about the money, only a fool would choose the PINS. Each to their own on the image though.
