Really? Do you feel the same about Haring as well? Kaws approach is essentially the modern day Pop Shop. The philosophy being that the Art didnโt need to be just for โcollectorsโ but for everyday people that appreciated the work. Great concept by Haring adopted and sustained by Kaws today.

I think it would be unfair for someone with little money who is a fan to never own anything official by an artist, even if it's a bath toy , towel, ect. It's nice that theirs something for everyone.

I feel like most big artists do gimmicky stuff like this. I think it's necessary to reach every level of consumerism and his installations feel more like attractions than art with the scale. This so-called limited edition is probably a limited edition of about half a million. yeah tahts a big bummer i have number 18 000 or something a friend has 24 000 but my biggest issue is that i was in contact with them befor they shipped them to ask if they can not drop all the 3 toys in one box to avoid this high shipping cost, they told me thats not possible and they have to be shipped each indivitual, then i recived one pack with all of them in it. i checked the price on shipping with all declarations that was on the pack and highest number was 90 usd delivery in 2-3 days i got them 3 weeks later and payd 210 usd.... |
