Framing Mini Prints, by lg2771 on Jul 24, 2018 2:19:20 GMT 1, I have a couple of mini prints that I would like to frame myself (not worth spending money at the framers). Does anyone have a really inexpensive way of DIY framing?

Framing Mini Prints, by maddoghoek100 on Jul 24, 2018 5:36:47 GMT 1, use stock frames buy the cheapest 45 degree mat cutter that is a hand pull and cut strips of mat to the correct width. Miter the strips to 45s on the corners and tape them together on the back to make a rectangle (just like a frame). That is the most efficient way to use mat and it is 1000% easier than trying to actually cut the mat correctly without a legit mat cutter

Framing Mini Prints, by chr1s on Jul 24, 2018 14:58:14 GMT 1, If the prints are related or done by the same artist you might consider using a slightly larger frame and cutting a mat with multiple openings like the example below. The prints in the photo below are about 2x3 inches each.

Framing Mini Prints, by gmh1910 on Jul 25, 2018 17:10:19 GMT 1, May I throw my 2 cents in? Hope this helps / gives guidance Assuming the mini prints are a "standard size (5x7 / 8x10 etc) i: Check amazon or search online for "multi opening frame" - hopefully a frame style / openings meets your criteria ii: Buy a roll of acid free ATG tape, acid free foam core. Mount the pieces on the foam core. Might be easier to cut foam core for each piece rather than try to place all pics on one piece and try to align with the mat windows. iii: Eraser, canned air, glass cleaner. Remove any smudges from the matting, clean glass thoroughly and blast with canned air to remove any dust bunnies. iv: Assemble in frame. Tack in with brad nails/clips. Cover the seam between the foam core and frame with good quality tape or use atg round the edge of the frame and craft paper the back.
I have tried to make this as user friendly and "off the shelf" as possible. Approx cost $30-$70 frame, ATG $8-10, Canned air/eraser/glass cleaner $10.
Hope this helps
