Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by Chris JL on Dec 12, 2017 0:44:00 GMT 1, obviously, but the proportion of volume for normal currencies is a fraction of the bitcoin one due to traceability and anonymity differences. And indeed most countries that try to reduce illegal transactions do put caps on cash transaction. Bitcoin are designed for anonymity and lack of traceability, hence are the favorite currency for such purposes - not an opinion, but a fact. But let's not hijack this discussion - there is a Bitcoin one somewhere on the forum. You must be stuck in the Stone Age lol you’re ideas of bitcoin and anonymity correlating with supporting drugs transactions are laughable. You have to be some old guy because no one 30 and under share those beliefs lol
No, I’m an economics professor in a top 10 world department and I specialise in financial markets. Again, won’t reply further not to hijack this.

Are you just worried about it weakening the USD? As most Worldwide black market transactions in the last 3 decades used the USD as the common currencey ? I say it's always good to embrace change, blaming Bitcoin for illegal activities that are century's old doesn't really seem viable.

Economists, financial experts, fund managers...they all hate Bitcoin. I wonder why...

I can understand why people say the bottom MAY fall out one day, but I think we’ll see bitcoin hitting six figures before that time comes, if it ever does come. I know this is not the “bitcoin” thread on this forum so I apologize for continuing the hijack....just my two cents, or my .0000000001 bitcoin

Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by maddoghoek100 on Dec 12, 2017 8:12:09 GMT 1, all this is academic with BTC hovering at 16/17k USD for the last few days. Seriously best of luck with the sale, but to get your price BTC will have to slump hard against some high water marks, which should make it a bit less appealing to you anyway.

If BTC had gone down, OP would have received less than £8k worth for the 0.91 BTC paid. I think it's a pretty neat gesture. Just because BTC increased in value doesn't make it less so.
Best of luck with your sale.

Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by Sliding on the Walls on Jan 18, 2018 18:43:07 GMT 1, HI guys,
Have received multiple PMs on this so so save replying to everyone with the same answer i'll say it here.
I'll sell it for £8k OR 0.91 BTC so if you pay BTC you pay the market rate whatever it may be, if you pay cash you do not pay the cash equivalent to 0.91BTC
The point of selling in BTC is because I am interested in this as an historic Banksy Bitcoin transaction and I'm willing to sell it for below 'market rate' on that basis

I can offer the peace of mind that i'm a long standing member of the forum since 2008 with many trades on here in the past.
I am happy to meet in person for anybody to visit and view the print and have a cup of tea

Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by white rose on Jan 18, 2018 21:29:38 GMT 1, I think buying with bitcoin would have been simpler a few years back when bitcoins were traded as individual coins. We are dealing with fractions these days so a lot harder to work out especially when prices fluctuate the way they have been
