After over a decade on the wall, I've decided to part with my unsigned LA Trolleys.

Printed by Modern Multiples, there are a few differences from the regular B&W Trolleys, most notably the cream background. There were only 150 of these printed I believe, 50 of which were signed (please correct me if I'm wrong about that!). The LA editions are therefore rarer and considered by most to be superior to the editions later printed and released in London.

I bought it in 2008 and it has been framed on the wall ever since. Float mounted behind UV glass by Mr Frameman.

Condition is excellent - no visible marks or damage.

COA is in hand. I'm based near Teddington, London.

Thanks for the clarification on the amount signed adam. Mine is numbered in the 120's so I wonder if there are perhaps a few more signed than just a couple (given there are 100 unsigned).

First rule don't take paypal 

They can make a claim and get the money back. You can use paypal but only the friends and family option so they cant make a fake claim. 

Face to face would be best. But you can also use a proxy you both trust. 

Paypal sides with the buyer 99% of the time. So if they make a fake claim you are in trouble. 
Chargeback's are for buyers not for sellers.

Take your item to a paper conservationist and get a condition report completed. It may be worth having it cleaned or pressed depending on what they find. It will cost you a bit to an It of money (£250 - £300 depending on what needs doing). This makes the deal very open and transparent and there is a professional report to go with your image.


I would always do face to face even if that means travelling a bit. Also bank transfer upon collection and I would then transfer the funds straight out into another account before the art leaves you or you hand over the COA.

I'm the same and have also had a couple of face to face deals which have fallen through because the item wasn't as described.

These items are a lot of money so I would always say have it checked and inspected to make sure the condition is as described.

I thought the piece had been sold but was informed yesterday the buyer had pulled out so it's still available.

Plenty of auction results this month to gauge... do your research. 

A known flipper / dealer asking for prices - surely that’s your job !!

Pretty easy - take the auction price and premium together and that is what some people will pay. Id reduce it 5-10% because the rich would rather use a legit well known auction house vs an unknown art forum.
