New Pejac drawing - Poem, by thisisit on Oct 1, 2018 22:01:54 GMT 1, Quite easy, his work is always an expression of the destruction to the planet, or how we are so absorbed in things we forget to appreciate it. Look at any work and those messages are in there, and are relevant to every day issues we currently have. Wound - oil leaks in the sea Forest - Air pollution Heavy Sea - waste in the seas Linea - Deforestation Meadow - Over hunting (this is not quite as strong an issue as we need to do some and most is not for sport) His work is very topical and packs powerful messages which is why I love it. I may be selling mine at the moment, but I shot way above my weight for my budget due to my love for his work, but one day wish to own a Seppuku and Wound again. Don't think Meadow needs to be taken literally. The deer can also represent nature in general. Seems more likely to me. By relevance I meant his subjects and painting style in relation to ART NOW. Not in relation to the weather today... This clearly demonstrates my point behind who collects Pejac... Please take this lightly and as least personal as possible. This is a comment on this artist everyone seems to know here: Pejac.
By all means please tell me I am wrong, and give me the reason how his painting style is relevant today and the future.

New Pejac drawing - Poem, by eye like on Oct 1, 2018 23:16:48 GMT 1, Actually I find his use of varied art techniques in his prints, such as lithography and photopolymer printing, to be one of the reasons why Pejac is so unusual and refreshing.
The subjects he draws on for his art are surely about as relevant as they could be? Climate change, deforestation, pollution, ocean waste...these issues effect all of us whatever political spectrum you occupy.

The subjects he draws on for his art are surely about as relevant as they could be? Climate change, deforestation, pollution, ocean waste...these issues effect all of us whatever political spectrum you occupy. These techniques have been around for many many years, countess artists have used them all, how is Pejac relevant by using them today? Especially in 10 years when these techniques have been around for more than 100 years.
Im sorry but this forum sticks of pejac hype, I feel it as a responsibility to reveal the other side of this one sided argument about Pejacs greatness.
Pejac is talented with his pencil for sure. But his images are just too banal for any major institution to ever hang them on their walls in the future.
No pejac print will ever be worth what people are asking now, so sell now!
*Also a photopolymer print is nothing fancy. Just a fancy name for a technique used all the time.

If we talk about what will be collected in the future and know it, all would be very rich at once. No one could believe that by drawing a jar of soup, it would be possible to get rich. Nobody knows what and who will be in demand in the future. We can say just what is yesterday and today. All the rest is just a personal opinion.

New Pejac drawing - Poem, by Express Post on Oct 2, 2018 1:00:20 GMT 1, They are not talking about what will be collected in future. They are questioning if and how the artist's artworks and ideas will transcend art history and influence the art making of the future.
Back to the Pejac disciples, better ask them why. If they just say because of the way it makes them feel, or tell anecdotes about friends with zero knowledge who spot the Easter egg references in the image, then that reflects their art knowledge. If they can start referencing the masters and make comparisons to the way the lines were drawn or the paint was put down, or even put forward an argument as to how this has a place amongst company like Elizabeth Peyton or Jon Currin then these guys know their shizzle.

New Pejac drawing - Poem, by wottagunn on Oct 2, 2018 3:42:22 GMT 1, How is pejac relevant today in any way? please answer that someone. Quite easy, his work is always an expression of the destruction to the planet, or how we are so absorbed in things we forget to appreciate it. I disagree on Meadow being about over hunting in any way.

In the modern ages, i donโt think we appreciate an artist by his technical skills (we have computers nowadays) but more by the ideas he is projecting through his Art. Itโs all subjective and we donโt know if the ideas will still live/be relevant accross years. I believe though that we will have traces of interpretation more easily thanks to the Internet. Back to Pejacโs messages, i donโt think they are new (Human vs. Nature) as they still resonate in all of us. Sadly, the news from the past 15Y shows that human have impact on their surroundings. So somehow Pejacโs art goes along what we read in the media.

you could ask your questions about any street/urban artist that gets discussed on the forum.

New Pejac drawing - Poem, by quinn on Oct 2, 2018 9:57:12 GMT 1, Hmmm... Iโve been doing my collecting all wrong then... transcending art history is not something that enters my mind when I buy a piece. If I like the image and it says something to me and I can afford it I buy it.....simple Pejac is not for everyone but I really enjoy his work. I only own linea so not a huge collector of his work. If you are buying art on any other basis than you like it then your doing it wrong.
