3D at the Apple Campus....both advertising for apple via Insta.

Banksy IG Post regarding Unauthorised Moscow Exhibition, by jimbofatz on Aug 16, 2018 2:40:22 GMT 1, To me it is of note that these two very anti capitalist artists both make an exception for the same multi-national company apple. It was strange when 3D posted pictures on instagram of himself at the apple campus. He got a lot ofs**t in the comments for it. Now the idea of Banksy walking around chatting away on an iphone just seems silly and he is also catchings**t for it in the comments as well.
What are the odds these two anti-capitalists both make an exception for promoting the same multi national Apple on their instagrams? I don't know and most people don't care.
Apple sucks.

I honestly don't care what phone he uses but he should if he's anti-corporation/anti-capitalist. He's suppose to be turned on and tuned in. This post is an advert its like a movie star drinking a coca cola mid scene-- product placement bullshit. 3D can be a bit daft.

Banksy IG Post regarding Unauthorised Moscow Exhibition, by jimbofatz on Aug 16, 2018 3:46:01 GMT 1, We've already been through this with the other shows promoted by Live Nation and other mega corporations. Its very important to note these shows aren't being put on by individuals trying to make a quick buck. These corps. would never get involved with a "unofficial" show that opened them up to lawsuits or even negative press.
The Moscow exhibition has the sponsorship of a number of Russia’s biggest companies, including the mobile provider MTS. The antivirus company Kaspersky was a partner for the exhibition, and a number of Russia’s most prominent news agencies were informational partners.
Banksy is 100% involved in all this. This is like watching a movie and turning it off before the credits run and thinking it was real. What the hell is wrong with this place?

I didn't even mention anything about an ad for a show. So hostile. Don't get mad at me if your all mighty Banksy can't think of an original idea. 100% his post is scripted. Get over yourself, boy.

BANKSY's name pulls a crowd - and that's why big corporations stump up moolah for art exhibitions if it's a name they think adds something positive to their audience's perception of their brand.

Banksy IG Post regarding Unauthorised Moscow Exhibition, by sircoxson on Aug 16, 2018 9:38:43 GMT 1, really don't know why there is a problem if they charge 20 quid to get in.
I guess it's a private initiative to show banksy's work over there, so probably quite some cost for transportation and insurance.
surely banksy never charged people to see his art (at shows or in the streets), but he took substantial money for people wanting to buy from shows. and he takes even more money to sell og's privately these days...he shouldn't complain I think...

It's purely a money grab, borrowing works from collectors, prob telling them it'll be good for the work, charging in, selling tat but the real shame is the impression visitors will be left with if they believe Banksy was any way involved. The shows Banksy puts on are million miles from these, they're raw and authentic, that can't be replicated. You could argue they are anti-Banksy exhibitions. It's a pity everyone isn't able to visit a genuine Banksy spectacle, I think many would avoid these "exhibitions".

We are basically saying the same thing ... these shows are damaging to the banksy name brand (which is copyrighted) and that could easily be proven. Hence it is a misrepresentation of the artists work. Just because you buy an original artwork does not mean you own its licensing or even lending rights.
If buying an artwork meant you owned its licensing and lending rights we would see McDonalds having mini Banksy shows to bring people into the store. Owning an artwork does not mean you are in control and can represent the artist anyway you chose. These shows could easily be stopped and with such big companies behind them who surely know this they would never take the chance and bad publicity it would bring them.
You are falling for a pro wrestling type story line of good vs evil.

Banksy IG Post regarding Unauthorised Moscow Exhibition, by Graham H on Aug 16, 2018 14:37:48 GMT 1, Part / most of banksy 's success has been driven by the promotion of his art work and ' brand ' in many official and unofficial ways.. all news is good news so to speak..
Of course its better for him and his market to have even an unofficial show happening in a country where he is under exposed so to speak. Especially a country that has a whole bunch of money rich art collecting individuals.
How long will it be until Russian e mails are going direct to POW / PC requesting commissions and art work.. stands to reason his money now isnt in £500 prints any more
By posting the whole text dialogue ( made up or not ) to over 1 million followers is promotion in itself..
If he wanted to shut these shows down, im sure he would / could.. but he doesnt want to, so wont.. why would he? ( in my opinion obviously ). The only bad publicity it would bring would be to question why a self publicised gorilla artist would try to shut down something promoting his work .. not bad press on the corporations who put these shows on.
I think all the talk about licensing and who owns what is irrelevant.. he never copyrighted any images intentionally ( i think im right in that).. eg all the tat on ebay that gets sold.. and owning an artwork means you can do exactly what you want with it.. hanging it home, in a museum, in Russia or anywhere else for that matter

That does sounds like a justification/defense statement. Are you justifying yourself for lending work to help support this or defending people you know who lent work to support it. What do you honestly think Banksy/Pest Control think about this show? Positive comments or not so complimentary? Would you be fine being associated by Banksy/Pest Control with being supportive of the shows? Whether Banksy has anything beneficial come out of it doesn't defend it imo

Banksy IG Post regarding Unauthorised Moscow Exhibition, by jimbofatz on Aug 16, 2018 16:14:53 GMT 1, Pest control would have to be involved to verify the authenticity of the loaned works since they are all apparently coming from private collectors. At the pace they work they would have seen these shows coming a year or two in advance.
There are so many holes in this story and these exhibitions that its embarrassing and now they are trying to change the narrative that he didn't know the show was happening? Ummm ok.
At this point you're down to this massive show sponsored by multi million dollar companies did nothing to authenticate the works they are charging to see vs. a "what's that"? text

why would pest control have to be involved?
Its a bit of fun and i am sure its so he can distance himself from it, or promote it indeirectly, or whatever, it was funny, simple as that for me

Banksy IG Post regarding Unauthorised Moscow Exhibition, by jimbofatz on Aug 16, 2018 16:53:09 GMT 1, 10 million pounds of Banksy artwork coming from everyone but Banksy...and the curators aren't checking with Pest Control to authenticate any of it or with anyone who might be close enough to Banksy to authenticate it and let him know about the sudden rush of inquires from Moscow? That's some prettys**tty curation for a show that is backed by so many multi million dollar companies. Come on.... do you really think he's not in on this?

Yeah, i do not think he is in on it
He has a big fucking hotel with his art in, he can sell what he likes when he likes, so yes i do not believe this is the kind of thing he does/did/would do.

Yeah, i do not think he is in on it He has a big fucking hotel with his art in, he can sell what he likes when he likes, so yes i do not believe this is the kind of thing he does/did/would do.

That's a sweet curator gig. Ya sure hang your banksy next to the one that guy named Jimbo Fatz brought in. That seems like a real name right? No paperwork or provenance needed -- you've got pretty eyes.

Banksy IG Post regarding Unauthorised Moscow Exhibition, by jimbofatz on Aug 16, 2018 17:53:15 GMT 1, Oh ya I'm getting lazy I forgot to mention that Massive Attack was just in Moscow for a look see. I don't know how no one mentioned the exhibit to him....maybe it was 3D who texted Banksy meaning they couldn't possibly be the same person.
blah blah 3D is Banksy

Banksy IG Post regarding Unauthorised Moscow Exhibition, by Deleted on Aug 16, 2018 18:17:11 GMT 1, Ah, i didn't realise the Guy from CAT was involved
That's a good reference <insert sarcastic remark>
The exhibition comprises the collection of Lilley Fine Art Gallery, several museums of modern art, as well as different private collections from around the world. For the first time ever, a special multimedia space introducing visitors to the creative work of this legendary graffiti artist will be arranged at the exhibition.
