Banksy • Peckham Rock Postcard, by Masong on Sept 29, 2018 22:30:13 GMT 1, You rich people sicken me with your wilful disregard of these highly sort after trinkets. Placing your sopping wet beer glasses on them with gay abandon just to prove you’re better than the rest of us for having the spare cash to wantonly destroy works of art without any thought for members like Markiemark that have fought long and hard to obtain such a treasure. I have no choice but to report you to the appropriate authorities... enjoy your lager top you philistine.
😂 From zero to hero 👍🏼 Edit: if it helps I had it laminated first

Banksy • Peckham Rock Postcard, by Kevin Anderson on Sept 30, 2018 19:47:06 GMT 1, Had it framed with a Titanium/Kevlar stock. Sealed with museum clarity ballistic glass to withstand class 4 assault rifle attacks. Impervious to chemical weapons.

Banksy • Peckham Rock Postcard, by Chris JL on Sept 30, 2018 20:02:23 GMT 1, I’m looking for a double sided acrylic self standing frame for this trinket. But all the ones I find out there are for totally flat stuff (eg pictures), so won’t work with this (and/or would let dust in). If anybody finds one of these, please let me know.

I would of thought it was highly likely. Why would you have a product for sale which is popular but not sell it through it’s highest selling outlet. I think people are just trying to hype this up to much. It’s a postcard/beer mat. Best thing people have done with this is stick it in a cheap frame and put it on the wall.

I must admit , I can't understand why Banksy would permit the museum to sell these. He took the piss out of the art establishment and now a cheap pest control authorised product is on the shelves. Are the proceeds going to a good cause? Tat or not what's a going on.

I think the fact that it’s £3.99 is taking the piss out of the art establishment in its own way. Nice that everyone can own it rather than just the lucky few that have the disposable income to spend thousands on a piece of paper. Yes it’s tat but it’s banksy tat.

Banksy • Peckham Rock Postcard, by Carl Cashman on Oct 1, 2018 7:49:05 GMT 1, Thanks. Does anyone know if they will be listed on the museum shop website again? It seems to be only through the exhibition. The last website listing was an error. My guess is they will be in store only from now on, the person I spoke to last week sounded as if they are struggling to meet the demand.

I went yesterday and (quite rightly) they are now only available in the gift shop at the end of the ‘Search for Dissent’ exhibition which you have to either pay for or have British Museum membership to enter.

I think people are just trying to hype this up to much. It’s a postcard/beer mat. Best thing people have done with this is stick it in a cheap frame and put it on the wall. You might well be right about the hype, but you have to admit that they’ve deleted it from the site and haven’t relisted it since they received more stock. At least, not yet. There’s obviously a reason for that.
It was clearly a problem for them when people started ordering hundreds at a time online, most of which immediately turned up on ebay at over-inflated prices. At least only selling them to personal visitors who are prepared to pay to visit the exhibition exerts a degree of control.
They’re a museum. They have other considerations than simply how many of a certain trinket they can flog.

Banksy • Peckham Rock Postcard, by Deleted on Oct 1, 2018 10:12:23 GMT 1, I e-mailed the British Museum about this not long ago. They said...
"The 'Peckham Rock' Banksy postcard has proved to be an extremely popular item in the merchandise range for the British Museum's latest exhibition, "I Object - Ian Hislop's search for dissent".
We do expect to receive further stock of this particular item, but we are working through a backlog of orders, and only when this is cleared will we be able to offer the card online again."
So it seems they will be available again online at some mythical point in the future.

From previous posts on here it looks more like they'd hopefully make them available again, depending on previous orders. Plus, things can change between then and now... I doubt they want all those crazy online orders again, and over sells.
