I think it probably comes down to common sense, people post stuff about themselves at their own risk. But we also live in an age where people are posting absolutely everything they do in social media, which I think is foolish. I saw on a certain instagram feed before a photo of a massive OG in its new home, it looked amazing, and the guy posts all of his collection, it feels like its boasting to be honest.

The user of that particular account used their own name, being curious I thought "I wonder what comes up on Google when I search that name" thinking this person must have celebrity status or something. Google returned results for the persons company, which then led onto financial information and assets, and ultimately a registered office address.

So it just shows how within a matter of minutes and the smallest bit of information you can retrieve a whole lot more about a person.

Use your head when posting stuff and I think as a rule of thumb think "Am I sure I want everyone in the world being able to see this?"

No worries, imo if someone was a burglar and they had that information and knowledge of the values of the pieces it would be quite easy for them to start scouting the house, waiting for an opportunity to rob it.
