Banksy, anonymity, and future value, by msobel3 on Oct 8, 2018 17:52:13 GMT 1, I have to honestly say that I’m a little disappointed with this forum. There are a few good people who have taken the time to shed a little iffy and decency; far too many of you decided to allege your expertise via insults and demeaning posts. Deciding via one post on someone’s intentions or financial status and that’s disappointing. A few of you were lucky enough to buy or run into some good luck and it took off.... and I’m certain you look at them as art AND investments, because that’s what they are. Whether or not you want to believe that I see multiple listings of “moving to find a different piece.” That’s an INVESTMENT and I know that’s hard for the select few to swallow. So next time you want to take liberties behind a screen, man the f**kup and send me a private message with your phone number and I can call you so we can discuss. why should anyone on this forum care that you are disappointed? How long have you been a part of it? What have you added to the forum? How have you contributed?
All you have done is ask for people's time and expertise on a subject that you clearly don't care about other than the dollars and cents of it.

I don’t want to discuss anything but feel like a fight. Should I send you my phone number or just give you the time and location to turn up for one?

Can we talk about forum fight club though?

Banksy, anonymity, and future value, by jimbofatz on Oct 8, 2018 22:19:34 GMT 1, This was worth discussion when there was opportunity for people to pick up every single one of his releases during the POW closing sale at cost from the source. Now its so obvious that you'd be putting someone on suicide watch if they sold or traded you a Del Naja and looked back on it in hindsight. So just let it be at this point.

Banksy, anonymity, and future value, by moron on Oct 9, 2018 11:16:36 GMT 1, Forums like this will show a fair amount of bias. One reason is because of the flippers and others with vested interests in certain artists.
Art is art and people who see "urban art" as a scene and only specialise in "urban art" ignore the fact that it is all made in studios by "artists" some of whom employ assistants to make the art in a very conventional way.
Ignoring contemporary art that is not clichéd "urban" leaves out a lot of good art, including screenprints and stencils etc etc that is very affordable and made by artists who also make art in their won studios and have their own exhibitions, just like "urban artists" do.
Money is easy to come by for some and hard to come by for others, so buying art with it, I would look at all contemporary art and ignore the "urban art" sales label.
There seem to be people on here who would never consider any art that they could buy but cannot make an instant profit on.
