Care to elaborate or is this one of those instances where you’ve been saving that reply for a few months and just waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike at the new member with a legitimate question?

Banksy, anonymity, and future value, by Wearology on Oct 6, 2018 23:02:38 GMT 1, Describing yourself as a "new investor" instead of a new collector, new enthusiast, or anything else but a new investor would have been more palatable. But in all reality the amount of discussion on here about money every thread - I can see why someone with only 7 posts that joined this month would think this is a Wall Street web site focused solely on profiting from art purchases rather than it being an urban art site dedicated to the appreciation of urban art and furthering the street art scene.

Point taken and clearly understood but I really didn’t want to use colllector, or enthusiast to mislead anyone. I’ll try this way.... this may be my first Banksy purchase and I don’t want to pay premium prices for something that may come crashing down. This is why I came to this thread so that I’m making an informed and educated decision.

Banksy, anonymity, and future value, by Laugh Now 10 on Oct 7, 2018 1:36:29 GMT 1, I think the OP is being sincere and, since this is Banksy we are talking about, his art is lots of $€£¥...so I think it’s a valid question after OP provided us with further insight into the intent behind his question. Having said that, OP, do your research before asking a question that’s been asked several times in the past. Nonetheless, I will provide this short response: Banksy’s position in the art history books has been established. And, you know what, they may never unmask “him” because there is no “him”. We are all Banksy

Banksy, anonymity, and future value, by Chris JL on Oct 7, 2018 1:47:06 GMT 1, Is it always the same person that sets up a new account and then starts trolling the forum? Or maybe it’s the British old saying: “there is a fool born every minute."
But if this is an honest query, here is the honest answer: use the search button. This has been discussed ad libitum in the forum.

Thank you. 100% sincere and 200% obviously lazy to find previous posts. I don’t like all of his work but certain pieces are awesome. And yes, it’s a lot of cash that could vanish quickly so that’s why I’ve come to this group. For your expertise. So I humbly offer an apology if I pissed anyone off with “investor”, but also I didn’t want to belittle anyone acting like I’m an expert.

We are all sharks and hustlers.
You would be better served networking with dealers and auction houses.
P.S. Mine aren't for sale.

I don't know of one person that would spend tens of thousands on a stencil of a rat or girl with balloon because it is great art as opposed to purely for it's investment value or to buy with undeclared income to hang on a wall or vault and re sell at a later date.

If an artwork makes you act irrationally, then it's for you. If buying for your wallet, find someone to refer you a good art consultant, they usually charge a commission for the works they source you

Banksy, anonymity, and future value, by d2 on Oct 8, 2018 15:35:37 GMT 1, I have to honestly say that I’m a little disappointed with this forum. There are a few good people who have taken the time to shed a little iffy and decency; far too many of you decided to allege your expertise via insults and demeaning posts. Deciding via one post on someone’s intentions or financial status and that’s disappointing. A few of you were lucky enough to buy or run into some good luck and it took off.... and I’m certain you look at them as art AND investments, because that’s what they are. Whether or not you want to believe that I see multiple listings of “moving to find a different piece.” That’s an INVESTMENT and I know that’s hard for the select few to swallow. So next time you want to take liberties behind a screen, man the fuck up and send me a private message with your phone number and I can call you so we can discuss.
