INVADER first solo show in Los Angeles since 2005, by yojoe007 on Nov 23, 2018 5:07:46 GMT 1, So.... anyone got a theory about those wonderful LA Kits in the new book? I thought maybe it would be an opening night thing, but now there's been complexcon *and* the sunset prints, I think it may be online. Three for three local LA releases would be a bit stiff for the internationals. But then again, it's an extremely LA centric period for invader...

Interesting. I didn't even know there was a webshop!

Ship flat! Rolling would be terrible for the print.

Travelling US-UK flat or rolled won’t make a huge difference in the life of the print...
Sent flat = no risk of creasing during tubing, but require bomb proof plywood or can easily get crushed beyond repair
Sent tubed = more handling of the print but can easily be doubled tubed with exterior PVC or super strong tube.
I would say the most important is to use a good courier (forget usps) and pay for 48hr / express service : less chance of this hanging around in the carrier network = less risk of damage

Awful advice. They will be better in a wide tube
Ship flat and they will 100% be folded in half at some point

Well, no but you did not say that.
Also suggesting rolling it would ruin the print but firmly sandwiching it between wood would be fine. pressing it would ruin it more than rolling, rolling wont ruin it at all. The only reason people ship prints flat is normally as the paper could ripple etc but to do an emboss you need a certain weight of paper anyway

INVADER first solo show in Los Angeles since 2005, by Fast Eddie on Nov 25, 2018 22:02:56 GMT 1, If I may add a comment to FR's point, can you guide me through the endgame?
Suppose the rolled-up (heavy weight paper and embossed) print is delivered safely, what do you do then? That kind of paper will retain memory of the curvature.
Even without standard controlled humidification techniques to relax the paper fibers, you will still need to press the print afterwards. Every single step there will mess with the embossing.
Or maybe I am missing something.
