Initiative Q - The future of payments??, by The Origin on Nov 10, 2018 11:58:14 GMT 1, Initiative Q - what are peoples thought on this? The future of payments? A scam? Email data harvesting?
Seems to be gaining a lot of traction in the press recently and lots of people are covering it.
Was interesting to me as an ex-paypal guys were involved and their website is a good read.
The official marketing blurb is below - didn't seem much harm giving them an email address I hardly use!
'Initiative Q is an attempt by ex-PayPal guys to create a new payment system instead of credit cards that were designed in the 1950s. The system uses its own currency, the Q, and to get people to start using the system once it's ready they are allocating Qs for free to people that sign up now (the amount drops as more people join - so better to join early). Signing up is free and they only ask for your name and an email address. There's nothing to lose but if this payment system becomes a world leading payment method your Qs can be worth a lot. If you missed getting bitcoin seven years ago, you wouldn't want to miss this.'
Here is a link below if interested to sign up or just message me - think i have a few spots left:

Initiative Q - The future of payments??, by The Origin on Nov 10, 2018 12:09:46 GMT 1, Thanks Dappy!
Yes if its data mining exercise they have done an amazing job as have gotten over 2 million emails and coverage on all the big news sites!
I guess people think that if they become the 'new bitcoin' they don't want to miss out.
Will be interesting to follow it regardless and see what comes of it

Initiative Q - The future of payments??, by fatherdamienkarras on Nov 13, 2018 17:25:56 GMT 1, From what I've read it seems to be a pyramid scheme offering nothing using blockchain language and terminology.
Definitely not the future of payments. If a fiat based monetary system is revolutionised in anyway it will probably be Bitcoin or Bitcoin cash who are the future.

Initiative Q - The future of payments??, by sparky999 on Nov 15, 2018 9:21:06 GMT 1, If you are going to shill a link that earns you more shitcoins you should probably be willing to tell people the extent of the data they will be handing over by signing up.
It includes but is not limited to
Name Address Purchase history Browsing history
Trying being less opaque in your desperation to make a few bucks next time

Saw the post, sounded interesting, and it's not going to harm using an extra email address. Who knows?
