I had quite a few pages of my note book filled with diagrams of boats and calculations. I even found a company in China that sells coin operated RC boats of a similar size.
32 guesses and I wasn’t close! 😆
My guesses ranged from 5,000-6,000g and then some high ones around 20,000g.
Hopefully the charity did well out of it! 😎

Last night I thought "No way can it be more than 6kg" and did about 5 tries between 2kg and 3kg. What was I thinking hahaha. In fairness I spent a little bit of time at first trying calculations, then I dug out the Dismaland magazine incase there was info in that, towards the end though it was just guessing. Like another draw really.
I reckon they'll have raised about £3m

42.6g out, that is super close. I thought hang on a minute they said the winner was 0.49g out so you were closer.... that's the issue, the winner was literally 0.49g out not 0.49kg. That's pretty much bang on. I misread as 0.49kg out. Anyway ignore me, I've got my head in a mess working it out lol I need another coffee.
At the end of the day, at least we all have a roof over our heads, in good health (I hope for all of us) and have filled the cupboards with plenty of food and drink for the festive season. x
And I hope all of the money raised helps make a difference to those in need and eases some of the suffering they face in their daily struggles.

Psychics might have done better than physicists.
Physics got me to around 18 kilos. Had to subtract the weight of the battery pack though, and that was a total guess. Not too far off. I was pleased to be a little on the heavy side — I was sure it was a good bit heavier than the 5 kilos everyone kept mentioning.

Then length * width * hight (cm under water) * correcting factor as the boat is shaped (expected 0,85 to 0,9) * maybe correcting factor as the water was dirty (expected around 1,02) minus battery pack. At least that hinted to the range. But as there as some variables you don't have (correct hight, water factor, shape, battery pack weight) you still need a lot of money or luck in the end.

For someone with math skills like that you're a pretty good guesser though. 
I made 5 guesses and they didn't even add up to 11 kilo....

It's those pesky decimal places that get me  and my guesses were way off. Most of mine were sat between 2kg and 6kg. I had about 7 in total. No complaints though, it was all for a good cause and I was lucky in the lottery last year so I think I've used up a lifetime supply of luck already.
