See the cleaner white mark on the bottom of the boat in the picture? That's a useful clue. Correct me if I am wrong, but the weight of the boat can be calculated using the volume of the boat under water (displacement) in terms of the weight of the water displaced. That volume is not hard to compute. Now please calculate that weight carefully - the pool could have been filled with salt water instead of freshwater and it looks dirty, so stuff's in it and that affects the weight units you are using.
True but you need two datas that will be very difficult to estimate:
- the density of the boat that is made of different materials (resin, foam and other ones)
- the volume of the boat and the percentage of immersed volume (the boat has a very complex shape because of the refugees aboard and for the percentage of immersed volume you can have an idea with pic posted from dismaland and compare with other pics of the boat but beware of the scale of those different pics )

At least if you make correctly your homework you should have a range of values 500g wide

It is very clear from everything I have read Banksy is claiming this boat is his work. He may or may not have sat down with super glue and put every piece together but as far as anyone is concerned this is a Banksy no buts no ifs. Enough Already!!!! This is lazy acceptance to me. Like I said are you claiming every single thing associated with banksy as an original in these large interactive installations? Maybe we should...

Add to this, from an interview on the site at the time (and yes, he says "we"): Tell us a bit about the process of making Dismaland, when did you first get the idea? How long have you been down there making things?
Itโs been six months for a handful of us. And itโs hard to stay focussed โ we spent three weeks carving the foam wheels for Cinderellaโs carriage and nobody notices them at all. It took another month getting the remote control boats to float after I overloaded them with people.

Either this was a banksy original scultpture from the beginning or not.
When dismaland opened this was just another object in the park. Now it's a 100k original.

See the cleaner white mark on the bottom of the boat in the picture? That's a useful clue. Correct me if I am wrong, but the weight of the boat can be calculated using the volume of the boat under water (displacement) in terms of the weight of the water displaced. That volume is not hard to compute. Now please calculate that weight carefully - the pool could have been filled with salt water instead of freshwater and it looks dirty, so stuff's in it and that affects the weight units you are using. True but you need two datas that will be very difficult to estimate: - the density of the boat that is made of different materials (resin, foam and other ones) - the volume of the boat and the percentage of immersed volume (the boat has a very complex shape because of the refugees aboard and for the percentage of immersed volume you can have an idea with pic posted from dismaland and compare with other pics of the boat but beware of the scale of those different pics ) If you have a guess of those two datas, the following website will make and explain the calcul for you www.editions-petiteelisabeth.fr/calculs_poussee_archimede_5.phpAt least if you make correctly your homework you should have a range of values 500g wide

Just calculate the volume of the part under water in cm3 and multiply it by the weight in grams of a cm3 of that dirty water. I think 1.024g. Then take away the approx weight of the battery pack.
