I mean, being hired and paid for your time, effort and work is one thing, but to then also be given effectively either a cherished art memento or 5 - 10 grand bonus on top is pretty stonking.
Th person who owned the Sale Ends V2 print which I just sold for them, will be using the money they got from the sale to pay off their student loans, learning to drive, buying a car and pay for tax and insurance and travel to a country (when possible) that they may never have been able to afford.It will change their life for the better.

Or now... the lottery entry and subsequent waiting game. Itโs a payday for someone, whether they or their family cash in now or years later. I collect other artists like Haring because I love his color and style. Yet in 2011 when I first came across Banksy whoโs material I resonate more with and could see he was taking the concepts of Warhol and many others to another level with his own factory which we have seen produce many amazing works.
As far as speculation on art I did not get into Banksy for an investment I got into it because I live his works and somehow my love and sacrifices of cash for his works has been rewarding on so many levels.
In my art spec opinion however his works will grow closer to Basquiat comps than Warhol will with his prints. A soup can at 35k sounds tempting but if I told you that regular edition Banksy signed screenprints will hit 1 million by 2030 Iโll bet you think Iโm nuts but because Banksy has a far more limited original catalogue his signed screen prints will be recognized as โoriginalsโ. Dumbo is at 995k in a gallery and itโs fairly priced fir the next 2 years.
I digress,
Riot van at 52 prints is under recognized and will take 5-10 years before it is but thatโs ok Iโm always in for the long haul and have another 10 years easy to grow with Banksy. Banksy in short is the Warhol of our time and with much more insight and range in my non expert opinion. Just a guy who loves art and history watching the two collide once again with Banksy.
I just donโt see the Warhol can prints or Mau ever hitting that with the lack of his estate keeping his work as relevant since he has passed.
