Yes overpriced

It was priced at £25k.. 

I had one of these. I received a copy of the seller’s photo Id which matched up with a photograph of them working at the event. Also I would ask the dealer if they could even provide you with some paperwork which matches up with the dedicated name if photo Id isn’t possible. I also got a headed letter from the employment agency confirming that the seller had worked there.
Every one is apparently hand embellished.I haven’t seen any others but it looked like the eyes on mine were scored through with a black pen.
I think approx 50 were given out.

Just to add to the comment below.. The comment isnt strictly true, not every one is hand embellished other than a pen mark through the eyes of the person on the slide ( no idea why??!!)..the dedication and the artist signature

You can see this on the one in Tate Ward.. this has no other Hand Embellishment on it other than the pen mark on the eyes ( the auction house appear to have removed the sig and dedicated name on the image )

Other hand finishing includes CND signs, love hearts, flowers, Anarchy Signs on the side or front of the van. Some have one addition others have multiple eg a Love Heart and a Flower..but there are just as many non hand finished as there are with hand finished elements.

You can see this from examples below.. the first being hand finished, the second having no hand finishing - I think this has the most hand finishing ive seen.. with mostly only one element rather than three or four on this example ( Anarchy / Flower / CND ) 






The question then leads to if there is more value for ones with more hand finishing... The jury is out..

I bought a few back in the day, sourced for friends and kept a couple for myself. The level of hand finishing varies a lot, the line across the eyes I think is printed rather than hand finished (not looked at one for ages so could be wrong). I mainly got payslips as provenance, but have one which was gifted for a different reason, but got appropriate alternative support, plus by then I'd seen quite a few

I have three of these, wrist bands mean nish. Paylips matching the dedication mean everything.

One of my three is the most HF'd one I have ever seen with multiple doodles.

I haven't seen any fakes of these, not saying there isnt any out there just not crossed my path.

And this is how fake news spreads. All it takes is an inaccuracy stated with authority. Especially an inaccuracy like this one, which contains enough truth to make the rest seem extremely plausible.

There were indeed cloth wristbands, worn by many of the permanent crew with positions of greater responsibility.

There were also ‘paper’ crew/visitor wristbands, worn by many other crew members. These were given out each day to people on that day’s roster, which was, generally, checked quite thoroughly to make sure only legitimate crew members and visitors got them. They were emphatically not the same as the ones given to the public. A unique design was distributed each day to ensure the band was only valid on that day, and that people couldn’t easily fake a band for subsequent days. They had to be different to the public wristbands because they allowed access to the crew area (and they were always checked).

I have a fair few of them, from which people can probably figure out how I can be certain of all this.

Also, not all gift prints were handed out in white, named bags. Many were, but others weren’t.

A definitive edition size is almost impossible to determine, but I would imagine it’s a little over the generally touted 50 or so, since an unknowable number were gifted to people who made a valuable contribution to the project without necessarily having an on-site role.
