Banksy A/P price difference , by Jonny Wednesday on Dec 19, 2018 12:18:54 GMT 1, All,
I'm trying to get a gauge on what the price difference might be when buying an unsigned Banksy print compared with an A/P version. Is there a general rule of thumb you can apply or is it down to market trends and what people think they can get away with because its an A/P.
thanks in advance.

There aren't any unsigned Banksy AP's.

There aren't any unsigned Banksy AP's. As posterbob has pointed out, this is a duplicate marked as AP. Would people expect to pay more for this? If so, is there a rule of thumb as to what addition % you expect to pay?

Banksy A/P price difference , by Graham H on Dec 19, 2018 16:21:10 GMT 1, Just to add that I had seen a duplicate numbered piece, that was then COA'd / Marked as A/ P DN and numbered from the 500 edition..if that makes sense.
Not sure if that is standard, or has changed over time. I guess the fact that some were double numbered means things were chaotic..so the re marking method could also be just as random
As for if it means its worth more... Ive no idea.. The image is the same but something a bit different from normal signed I guess
In the past, duplicate numbers were always annotated by Pest Control with the addition of the letters 'DN'.
Seems very odd for them to have changed that to 'AP' because that gives no indication whatsoever that the edition is a duplicate number.
And how do they number these AP's, given that they only know about duplicates when they're submitted for COA's?

Banksy A/P price difference , by avec art on Dec 19, 2018 16:27:13 GMT 1, my feelings are that duplicate numbered editions don't sell so easily. Perhaps people are put off by the DN issue. Wasn't there a DN LN with COA sat on ebay for months and months.

Banksy A/P price difference , by Graham H on Dec 19, 2018 16:35:52 GMT 1, Cant see why it would make it an issue to a potential buyer if it has the correct COA..
I think the LN was more a pricing issue.. but could be wrong.
I like a bit of chaotic numbering!

Banksy A/P price difference , by avec art on Dec 19, 2018 16:57:28 GMT 1, It was overpriced too, so you're probably right about that. But I still think it could put off some collectors, personally I wouldn't like the idea of someone else having the same number (not that it really matters at all), perhaps that's just the ocd at work. I wouldn't prefer to have a DN print to a standard one.

Pestcontrol have acknowledge them as duplicates. Put this down to human error at the time of numbering them and have revised them to be AP's. So not true AP's. My assumption is that they would be worth the same as a numbered unsigned print rather than have a premium to them for being an AP.
So, I'm getting the impression that this should not command a higher price, since its not a true A/P?
