1) Is there any visual difference between Shep's regular edition of say 450 prints and the A/P's that go along with the print?
2) Does anyone know how many A/P's that Shep makes to go along with a regular edition?

There is no difference between numbered prints and A/P's.
When I used to pay attention, the AP number was estimated at between 10-35 of each print. Apparently, Shepard does, or did, set aside a certain number of prints for his archives and AP's replaced those in what was offered for sale.

They are NEVER numbered so its tough to say how many are produced. I image 10% or less of the initial run would be sufficient to provide replacements for damaged prints and to keep for personal gifts which he is very generous with. There should be no difference whatsoever between the AP and original run (very few 90s editions are the exception but quite rare). Congrats on the acquisition!
