Who's your top five artists, by South Bound on Jan 18, 2019 18:01:30 GMT 1, Answering your question as asked and not my personal Top five Artists. Also presuming you mean Urban/street art: Basquiat Haring Banksy Kaws Fairey This list is basically correct if going back further and thinking about Street Art from it's inception. Problem is Haring and Basquiat have already been talking points for 20 years and why I didn't include them in my list. I'm not so sure about Kaws and how he actually fits. Honestly I cant call to mind an actual 'street work' of his. I think he will likely be discussed in 20 years just not sure if it's for this scene. I think Blek will be included due to originality and being in the beginning (although his later work is blah). I think what JR has been doing is top notch and will only gain in popularity and prestige. I need help with my fifth still though.
I’m not a KAWS fan, but in regards to graffiti he is as legit as they come and still highly respected by many kids painting graffiti (I’m old but still keep in touch with that crowd). Him, Twist, Espo, Swoon, Obey, etc all were part of the whole Mission School crowd (the characteristics of what constitutes Mission School are debatable) that Aaron Rose and Jeffrey Dietch helped bring in from the street and into the gallery.
They are all legit, but have moved in from the street to the gallery as they matured as artists.

Yes, sure. It‘s about what you like. And I like an findac og on my wall much better than the ones you mention. Each to his own. Don‘t swim with the crowd...

I mean if we've been talking about them for 25000 years I'm thinking in 20 more is a safe bet.

His father was a cartoonist apparently and I haven't found any examples of his art anywhere so far.
