Who's your top five artists, by Meskell on Jan 26, 2019 8:25:44 GMT 1, Since most favorites have already been mentioned and five isn't nearly enough...these three would be in the top five regardless.
El Mac Borondo Phlegm
Unfortunately, they also seem to be the least interested in releasing work. Something that also makes them a little bit cooler. I feel all have the ability to still be plenty relevant in twenty years granted Phlegm doesn't go blind before then. Although, I'm not sure he wouldn't be able to adapt. Besides the murals, Borondo has been creating some pretty technical and grand installations and he's still very young. Can't get enough El Mac. And how many instagrammers have over 100k followers while following less than a handful? Kinda funny.

Who's your top five artists, by Duke Down Stairs on Dec 22, 2019 5:38:05 GMT 1, Yeah... current KAWS slot was 3-way with Shep and Invader. Shep the most important artist of the 3.
Think the way KAWS has woven Branding into the Art game will have longlasting impact.
Would not replace any of my top 4.
Don't understand anyone not having Hambleton.

Head to borondo.bigcartel.com borondo has a new print out that is fantastic, and in classic Borondo style HEAVILY hand finished, named Bruno.

It a great looking print, that would have been snapped up here years ago. Borondo seems to have zero interest around here nowadays. At one time, he was a forum favourite, what happened? Not enough invested interest to keep him relevant maybe.

It’s a shame really, he is an incredible artist. The experiential and complex nature of his practice, and installations are much more difficult to convey in an instagram dominated market world.

Yes, maybe this and not great management. He just doesn't get much exposure anywhere as far as I see. His installations are amazing, I would like to see him return to the UK for a show soon and maybe that will bring a bit of excitement back here.
