Ex ante I was expecting a documentary. Did not know plot/theme/structure.
Ex post to me seems another daft exercise in riding Banksy's coattails. Plus Joan Collins is the nightmare of a deranged circus ringmaster.

Documentaries, by soupy on Feb 12, 2019 19:28:52 GMT 1, the lister doc is pretty good. pretty insightful and very open about a lot of personal / professional entanglements. i did find the ending a bit contrived regarding the gallery show / picnic in the park. i get he's trying to make amends but certainly was a way for him to control the narrative a bit. his ex or other children didn't attend which kinda spoke more to the current state of the situation. still... just a minor observation of what i thought was a good doc.

I enjoyed it and I lived in Bondi for 5 years and that’s the last place he should have gone if he was ‘trying’ to save his relationship. He would have had a lot of new mates just around him for the partying and drugs. He should have gone back to Brisbane to win back his family. Hope he’s off the drugs these days and concentrating on his work. I’m a big fan of his work and like seeing his street princes around the place..

Watch this and then go to see the exhibition at Tate Britain. I went today - amazing where this guy has been and what he’s seen.

This. You echo my thoughts exactly. A beautiful family with an amazingly supportive wife, that ending was the real insight and spoke volumes about who he is.
