It’s the greedy middlemen, not the artists...when the middlemen start exploiting their artist that becomes a problem...and they all know each other and gobble up 75% of the inventory. Save your money and buy works at source or for pennies on the dollar from galleries during the next recession - which may have already started.

I find Pejac quite constant in terms of quality of his deliveries. Not much change in his approach and messages.

As for his secondary markets. Ups and downs like everyone. A bit of sell down from people who are reinvesting in other artists is healthy for all. Nothing new there.

Perhaps because there is no one reselling original artworks?

Thing is.... technical ability isn’t actually enough. People have to want to take in what you are trying to convey. Plenty of extrodinarliy talented artists, musicians, actors, etc out there that no one will ever hear of. On the flip side there are plenty of artists with marginal ability that are able create something interesting enough for people to take notice. Quite a few that are discussed here in fact.

Pejac is super talented technically and works in a wide range of mediums and is an artist that I am typically excited by but his messaging to me need to expand a bit. Think we all get the earth is a shit show and change is needed at this point. It’s starting to feel a bit more a fleeting ad campaign than something I’d like to keep going back to. Looks great on Instagram but does it have a place beyond that? Maybe... I don’t know.

Anybody? Is anything that can be perceived as anti-pejac just punted off the main page ? I didn’t move the thread to the pejac subgroup and I thought we were having an interesting discussion. What’s the deal?
