Selling Banksy Posters and CDs, by bestdj777 on Mar 21, 2019 2:33:05 GMT 1, Hi all,
Selling almost everything I’ve got that won’t ultimately make the wall. I’ve got a number of CDs, including some that are a bit more difficult, and a handful of posters. I know what everything is worth and no unreasonable expectations, just wanting to clear some stuff out. For the CDs, I’d prefer to sell as a lot if possible.
Please send me a message if you have any questions, want to see any photos (I’ll need your email as I’m not up to speed with posting photos on here yet), and any offers. And, to the extent it is inappropriate to post CDs on here, happy to delete. U.S. based but happy to ship overseas at cost.
Thank you,
Chris
[full disclosure - I have the lot listed on eBay for “Museum” prices as I wanted to test the waters with offers but not willing to eat the fees and divide everything up on there]
CDs
Blak Twank – Kik Off
Blak Twang – So Rotton
One Cut - Hombremix -near mint/mint
One Cut: Grand Theft Audio
We Love you … So Love U – brand new/sealed
We Love you … So Love Us Too
We Love you … So Love Us Three
Roots Manuva - Badmeaningood – brand new/sealed (slight cut mark along side as likely a sample)
Skitz - Badmeaninggood – brand new/sealed
Blur - Think Tank
Blur - Think Tank (red)
Blur - Think Tank (gas head) – near mint/mint
Blur - Out of Time
Blur – Out of Time (Japan) – brand new/sealed
Blur - Crazy Beat (house) (1 clown)
Blur – Crazy Beat (house) (2 clowns) – two copies a(one CD broke in the mail when I received it so I got a replacement. The broken one is included with the original artwork in a replacement jewel case and the replacement is included. The replacement CD has mild scratches on the art work side but should not impact play)
Blur - The Observer – excellent condition
Blur - Good Song
Scratch Perverts – Badmeaningood – very good/excellent (indentation running along bottom but presents very well and includes inserts)
Peanut Butter Wolf – Badmeaningood – brand new/sealed (hole mark as likely a sample)
Posters/Other
Bristol - Copper – near mint/mint condition
Beyond the Streets - this was in mint condition when I purchased it but the seller shipped it in one of those triangle mailing “tubes” and it got crushed in transit. Both the top and bottom edge have small creases/indentations throughout as a result. It should look great framed/matted and from a few feet back and could potentially be restored if these ever pick up in value.
Dismaland Balloon (I know this isn’t Banksy but may be of some interest).

I’m thinking $115 each shipped in the U.S., which is about what I into them, or $215 for the pair as I can ship them together.

Fair enough. I probably bought them at the wrong time then. I paid either 96 or 103 a piece right after they were initially released. Just trying to cover my costs. Will remove them from the listing and save them for another day. Appreciate the heads up.

You can set your own prices, maybe someone is willing to pay a few bucks more to buy from a forum member and not eBay. Or maybe it makes sense to purchase at your set price when combining with something else you're selling. Just because someone somewhere else has a different price set doesn't mean you have some obligation to match or beat that in order to list on the forum. You are free to ask what you want and the market will bear you a sale or it won't. That sounds fair to me.

Selling Banksy Posters and CDs, by Deleted on Mar 22, 2019 11:52:09 GMT 1, Is there much of a market for the CD versions? I know the vinyl versions can go for a decent amount of money but the CD versions seem a lot more readily available.
Edit: I may well be completely wrong

I don’t know if you are wrong or right as it’s sort of an in between. There is a crazy market for the vinyl, with even bootleg covers selling for pretty healthy prices. CDs generally aren’t bringing the same prices. In my opinion, there are three categories of CDs: 1. Really common ones (i.e., most of the Blur ones), that can be picked up really cheap and are likely only purchased by people that like the music or have to have them all; 2. Not rare but pretty desirable CDs that go for a bit more (i.e., the Badmeaningood and We Love You so Love Us series), which have really cool art work and seem to command better prices and appeal to more people; and 3. The rarer CDs that command really strong prices comparatively (i.e., Hombremix).
For me, it was a more affordable way to get a bunch of different Banksy images compared to purchasing just a few albums. And, I think, but pure speculation, that there is some upward growth potential given how far out of budget Banksy art, and now Banksy vinyl, has become for many. There are also some great way to frame the albums, but my wife has been very patient with me as I decorate my office and don’t want to press my luck.
