New Kunstrasen 27th March, by met on Mar 24, 2019 19:38:03 GMT 1,
The artistic progression of kunstrasen is surprising. I'm impressed. It's always a pleasure to witness creatives producing original work and really coming into their own.
His version of the female cleaner in monochrome is what makes the piece stand out for me as unique.
Dran's cleaner, on the other hand, has a peach-coloured outfit โ which of course is an entirely different concept.
Kunstrasen, Drip Remover (2019)
Dran, Taches (original circa 2011?; offset lithograph edition of 250 released in 2012)

Jesus. Itโs 2019. People canโt be buying this stuff? Can they?

New Kunstrasen 27th March, by kunstrasen on Mar 25, 2019 17:58:00 GMT 1, Totally understand the critisism on this piece. However if I would have been aware of the Dran by the time I first put drips on a canvas I would not have done it. Way to big my respect for Dran. Funnily enough I made the first drips after visiting Urban Art Fair in Paris last year. Don't get me started on trying to understand dynamics in the art world though...broke my mind over that already.
I simply love to spray and paint...maybe I get carried away by that sometimes a bit too much and should put a lot more focus on similar inspiration other artists had before. I will do in the future.
Sort of made a Drip Remover for the fun of it and then was overrun by positive comments, commission requests etc. so a print seemed like the reasonable thing to do. I know plenty of people will love this print but want to apologise to those who donโt. Special apology to Dran if he reads this. Definitely far from wanting to copy artists and aware now that I have to put more effort into research on what's been around before. Had a bit of a very rough time personally a while back and still recovering from that so was a bit limited due to that.
However as said I simply love to paint and spray...it's what kept me alive and I'm sure it did it for a reason.

May not be true, but maybe it's the impression people get from seeing the same idea used and reused over a 5 year period.
(I count about 450 versions from what's on expressobeans plus the new release)

There is nothing wrong in being easily identifiable in the art world. There will always be people knocking you because of your success or failings ... You're right to react to the positive reactions about this image and the quality of the artworks produced from it will speak for themselves. Sadly it is easier to mock than create.

Sour comments are not about the art. Or copying (if they were even aware of that). Simply people seeing their investment in their Spot Remover possibly devaluating. Meaning they bought it for profit - not because they love the image.
Which is in fact something you might consider as well if you have bills to pay. If you just paint because you love to paint then "insert rude word" them.
Hope you are doing better on a personal level. That's what really important. Don't let some grumpy old men here upset you.
Good luck with the release. Surely it will sell out in seconds.

Which artists? I see the same bunch of artists doing mostly super successful releases with GP. Not to defend them... I'm just curious.
For me personally Kunstrasen is a great artist who can count on my support.

What's with all those "dots" by Hirst? How many million variants did he paint? But just because it's Hirst, it's OK? Or JR - Hold Up/Ladj Ly - there are minimum 4 signed and numbered editions and a poster one... and yes, people are still buying this.
I am sure, there will be more great releases in the future by Kunstrasen - he just needs to get back fully on track as you read in his statement. You have my full support Phil and I totally agree with Dive Jedi.

New Kunstrasen 27th March, by Hairbland on Mar 26, 2019 12:45:17 GMT 1, Totally understand the critisism on this piece. You have a passion for art and have a genuine talent and 'signature' to your images. There is nothing wrong in being easily identifiable in the art world.ย There will always be people knocking you because of your success or failings ... You're right to react to the positive reactions about this image and the quality of the artworks produced from it will speak for themselves. Sadly it is easier to mock than create. Maybe. If variations of this have been going on for 5 years then maybe no new ideas in the Idea Jar? From what I read the artist seems to be agreeing with many of the comments, thatโs why there is a response. I recall people here getting annoyed over the constant re-release of some pantyโd girl and a bomb or something. A successful idea regurgitated for 5 years is a successful idea regurgitated for 5 years no matter how you slice it, especially if GP is involved.

New Kunstrasen 27th March, by scarylarry on Mar 26, 2019 13:00:28 GMT 1, People still buying this? This is his million variant of this overused print. Time to move on... What's with all those "dots" by Hirst? How many million variants did he paint? But just because it's Hirst, it's OK? Or JR - Hold Up/Ladj Ly - there are minimum 4 signed and numbered editions and a poster one... ย and yes, people are still buying this. I am sure, there will be more great releases in the future by Kunstrasen - he just needs to get back fully on track as you read in his statement. You have my full support Phil and I totally agree withย Dive Jedi.
When did I say it was okay or even mention Hirst or JR?
