Mercedes-Benz sue 4 artists over instagram posts, by printminx on Sept 10, 2019 10:57:16 GMT 1, It looks to me that Mercedes deliberately used the art work for promotion of their cars and are therefore in the wrong. Artists work must be protected otherwise any piece of art work could be used to promote anything. There has to be limits and boundaries, imagine you are the proud owner of a house and are really proud of the work and energy you have put into making it look good but then a decorating company comes along and uses photos of your newly decorated  home in a campaign as an example of how not to do it. How would you feel, violated, I should think and that's how artists feel when these huge companies basically take the piss.
