B-I-N-G-O! This is exactly the problem with open editions. In theory they could potentially be worth more at some point but in reality the only way for that to happen is the artist would have to stop producing them. My opinion is that due to its iconic nature this particular image will never stop being produced while the artist is alive and can sign so unless you find a buyer that values a “09” next to his name instead of a “insert current year” next to his name it will only ever be worth what the artist is selling them for ($30 in this case) currently. Interesting question though...do collectors put a higher value on an older open edition?
