TNT vs UPS Shipping, by chevyav53 on May 21, 2019 14:21:21 GMT 1, Hello, about to have a small hand painted sculpture shipped. They gave me numerous shipping options. One of the best in terms of price and shipping times was a TNT. They appear to be a subsidiary of Fedex.
Wondering if any experience with them especially if youโre in the US? Next best option is UPS.

I used TNT in the States 2 months ago. They sent my parcel to the wrong address. It took 5 weeks for them to collect it from the guy who received it by mistake.

TNT vs UPS Shipping, by rob on May 21, 2019 14:59:28 GMT 1, I use UPS in the UK for work, about 25-40 parcels per day and most are delivered on time without problems.
Just make sure you are clear with the value and contents of what you are shipping as most couriers insure by weight, about ยฃ20 per KG as standard.
Also, whoever you ship by, take photos of the sculpture before shipping, during packing and the packed box. A common excuse for damaged goods is insufficient packing, so keep proof of everything.
From prior experience, deal direct with the shipping company, not a third party agent like Parcel Hero as you will get no support from these companies if something does go wrong.. cheapest is not always best with couriers..
Good luck..

TNT vs UPS Shipping, by Matt on May 21, 2019 15:26:48 GMT 1, My experience :
Avoid TNT for transatlantic freight to US. Not their home turf...they lose stuff inevitably
Use UPS or FedEx for the US, and always the fastest service you can afford

Matt That is what I was thinking as well, the fastest service....
The item I am receiving is โฌ1,400 a small sculpture and original drawing
Shipping options DHL - not even bothering listing TNT - โฌ170 48hr estimate UPS - โฌ220 48hr estimate Fedex - โฌ330 24hr
was curious on TNT as 48hr was not bad and for โฌ170 if good feedback I would have done, but if going with UPS for another โฌ110 may as well use Fedex as I see it as extra insurance.
