Stretched canvas is looking wavy, by bestdj777 on Jun 9, 2019 3:16:27 GMT 1, Hi all,
Bought a Steve Kaufman print on canvas. It was already stretched and framed when I got it, maybe by Kaufman before it was sold? Anyway, in the years I’ve owned it, the canvas no longer seems to be stretched as tight. What, if anything, can be done to fix this? And, any thoughts on price to repair it? I’ve got a few local frame shops but curious what it should run so I know whether they are being fair with me.
Thank you,
Chdis

I'm assuming you checked online. Were you uncertain about the Google-search results?
Do you know what kind of canvas you have (cotton or linen) and what type of inks were used for the print?
The effective default solution of a friend of mine who paints with acrylic on cotton canvases is as follows:
She mists the back of her loose canvases with warm water from a plastic spray bottle, and then dries them with a hair dryer on medium heat.
It's a commonly-used technique by artists, which many framers will also be familiar with.
Additional information and allternative solutions can be found here:

Stretched canvas is looking wavy, by Happy Shopper on Jun 9, 2019 8:29:29 GMT 1, Yep. Do as Met suggests. I’ve done it before and it works. Lightly dampen the back with water from a spray bottle, then dry with a hairdryer.

Stretched canvas is looking wavy, by bestdj777 on Jun 10, 2019 2:00:02 GMT 1, Thank you all. I’ll give the spray bottle thing a shot. I hadn’t searched Google yet because I don’t exactly trust the results and, either way, would be coming back to here for advice on it.

As stated in previous posts. Spray distilled water on the back and dry with a hairdryer. I have done this and it works a treat even on canvas with massive ripples.
