Glastonbury Festival, by Lroy on Jul 1, 2024 11:00:35 GMT 1, Do we think 1 & 4 are designed by Banksy? Some are saying yes, some others not ( as they are all made by La Linterna ), but the design of the 1 mostly and the 4 are better than the other ones. it’s true that we will never know as it’s La linterna the creators. So, eBay prices are silly for cheap paper/poster as I heard anyway if I would got one I would said : « yes it’s made by Banksy, Hurray !!! »

Glastonbury Festival, by xite on Jul 1, 2024 12:43:57 GMT 1, That makes sense as I got a few but early on the Saturday.
Also the first version has a 5 way split fountain the second only 2 which would be easier/quicker to print.

Hoping to get all your post out today!! The orange was the one used for the promo print (the one on the hoarding) before prints went on sale. For the first two days it was only pink. I assumed they were all going to be pink. I bought some more yesterday but didn’t see what colour they were. Orange would be nice.

Glastonbury Festival, by tiny poubelle on Jul 1, 2024 13:24:57 GMT 1, I got back to Yorkshire just over an hour ago.
Glastonbury was once again sensational. I loved every minute of it, though my feet loved it a little less. I clocked up just under 45 miles.
Musically, Noname, Danny Brown, Hak Baker and Barry Can’t Swim were all great but Idles (not a band in that bothered about) and Fat Dog both stole the show.
It’s always as much fun with art at Glasto and having T1, Migrant Boat, Sickboy, Paul Insect, the Birmingham crew (Dion, Tat Vision, Fokawolf etc) Pete the Street and Shangri La generally, there was plenty to keep me occupied.
I went round the T1 experience 4 times. The first was really unnerving and you don’t take a lot in so I went back and was able to enjoy watching the reactions of others, as well as seeing how each of the actors played the different roles. Plus it meant I got to take photos of most of it (barring border control, they always shouted at me if I got my phone out). Having not been to Dismaland, it was cool to finally get to an idea of what that would have been like. It was both funny and awkward to see people who you’d queued with for 45 minutes get their question wrong and be shown the door. It happened to a couple with me yesterday. They’d been asking me about the rooftop bar. I told them they’d enjoy it. I was gutted for them that they never got to find out that there was no rooftop bar, only a sign on the rooftop directing you downstairs to the bar, a bar that you didn’t have to go through the experience to visit. Overall it was a brilliantly thought through and executed installation. If it’s not Banksy, someone has gone to a lot of effort to make it look exactly like his work.
Here’s to Glastonbury 25

Remember the days when you had to refresh the Picture on Walls website for a few hours to get hold of the newest Banksy print release, and ended up with no print, a broken F5 key, and crushing disappointment?
Like that.
Eeasiest way in to the festival is to work; stewarding, site clearing, Greenpeace etc all offer works in exchange for a ticket and a (refundable) deposit.

Glastonbury Festival, by tiny poubelle on Jul 1, 2024 14:29:07 GMT 1, A bit off topic, but how hard is it to get tickets for Glastonbury? Pot luck to some extent. I hear of people who get them every year. Some never get lucky. I’ve been 3 times since 2017 (3 times in the 90s) and would go every year if I could.

Glastonbury Festival, by Briggs 74 on Jul 1, 2024 14:57:47 GMT 1, went three times in the 90s - worked for Oxfam once and climbed the fence twice - the working for the festival is prob the best option as you get better campsites to stay in too (or at least you did back then)

Glastonbury Festival, by tiny poubelle on Jul 1, 2024 15:05:21 GMT 1, I’m 49.
Two friends take their camper van and I get to pitch my tent at the side of theirs. It means I don’t have to fight it out with the masses for a 3ft space for my tent. It makes a big difference. If I had access to my own camper, I’d do that.

Glastonbury Festival, by its all about me on Jul 1, 2024 15:12:45 GMT 1, I remember going in the 90s (or was it the 80s) when it still had a very alternative vibe to it and nobody was bothered who the headline acts were. You would also get people openly selling drugs from their van, some even having a printed price list stuck on the windscreen.

Glastonbury Festival, by Johnny Sarcasm on Jul 1, 2024 17:27:00 GMT 1, I would say drugs have a limited if any real prescence there now. It’s a lot bigger and more to see and do. People want enjoy the day. More drinking then anything else. I hadn’t been for 15years, and it’s really different now- but so much better. Stone Circle for example is just tiny, so small. It’s not really a feature anymore just a field you might pass through to the park (and I’ve spent many years going up there, used to be the highlight). Apart from parents and their kids and the over 50s I would say 80% of the rest were high

Glastonbury Festival, by xite on Jul 1, 2024 17:34:27 GMT 1, It’s instagram and social media. It’s all different, people don’t get really fucked anymore like they used too. Theres also a lot more money spent on it, more to see. It’s mind blowing the production and staging. It’s another level now. All the money is being spent on it. They’ve got Coldplay and Banksy as house artists basically. Seems rolling around in a muddy field on ket or whatever is for smaller (cheaper) free parties and what have you these days.

Glastonbury Festival, by Onket on Jul 1, 2024 17:50:25 GMT 1, WARNING. Nostalgic post-
I bought a ticket in 1995. Swore I'd never buy a ticket again!
I went again in 1999 & 2000 and it cost me a tenner each time. In 2000 I finally made it to the travellers site and then had to climb back over the fence to get back in to the main festival again.
Think I saw 2 bands in 2000. I was telling everyone to see Dave Clarke in the dance tent and then totally missed him myself. Don't know where I was.
Went again in 2002 (the first year of the megafence) but couldn't get in, so hitched a lift to a rave at Smeatharpe instead (look it up).
Great experiences all round. Might have to break my vow about not buying tickets if I'm going to ever go again.

Oh and they counted in French.. 🤷😉

Glastonbury Festival, by ronanmc on Jul 1, 2024 19:38:20 GMT 1, Hello. I picked up a few of these if anyone wants to make me an offer. Thanks Johnny Sarcasm - You might do very well. Expect to get generous forum members offer to pay a premium (e.g. £20 per poster), and potentially even offer to cover the cost of postage, as they try to scab a poster off you for as close to zero as they can.
Maybe even a few tales of sickly family to boot. 👍👍👍
