Does a print edition ultimately make the original not unique? We see a small glimpse of artists' originals, a print edition spreads across the masses and can be attributed to making some works iconic. It should be completely flattering that 100's of people are fighting over a print version of the holy grail that you own. I see no negatives to having an edition made of a work I owned, it only creates more appreciation, awareness and demand for the original. (not applying any of this to Pejac necessarily) |

And not being reproduced does not necessarily means the quality of an OG is less.
It might be less commercial - which could be a good thing as well.

Although I agree with you in general on this SFNYC prefers his OG's to be not reproduced. Which is his prerogative. And not being reproduced does not necessarily means the quality of an OG is less. Well, first of all, the artist will tell you in advance that the image remains in his copyright. So without overthinking it, you know you're at risk from the beginning.
I don't know if I would be upset or would make me dislike or like more the work I own.
Owning an original artwork is personal. When more people start commenting about it as they have a shot to own the image, you may feel that any critic is on your personal taste, hitting your feeling. perhaps...

Just compare then to the main ed... but to shorten that. On the Special Edition only the white print is HF (fishes next to the Eskimo) and on the Save the Med only the dark print is handfinished with trash floating in the ocean. Auropelli combined both...
